R. Kelly’s Former Chicago-Area Megamansion Selling for $3.5 Million
A mansion that disgraced R&B star R. Kelly formerly owned in the suburbs south of Chicago has hit the market for $3.5 million. Kelly, who’s serving a 30-year prison sentence for racketeering and sex trafficking among other crimes, had the megamansion in Olympia Fields built in 1997. It has six bedrooms and more than 21,000 square feet. Another R&B artist Rudolph Isley, founding member of the Isley Brothers, owned it after Kelly. Chicago Tribune
First Zero-Carbon District Is Completed in Paris
Paris’s “first zero-carbon district” has been completed by French architecture practice TVK. The sustainable neighborhood in the city’s 19th arrondissement is a collection of four limestone buildings with a garden and was designed to increase biodiversity. The structures range in height from seven to nine stories, each with ground-floor levels are large interior spaces made from low-carbon concrete. An Idaho Cabin With Frank Lloyd Wright Ties Lists for $2.7 Million
A cozy log cabin in Blaine County, Idaho, has hit the market for a relatively hefty price of $2.7 million. The home’s famous ties partly account for that—the cabin was built in 1996 by Jay C. Pace, an apprentice of Frank Llyod Wright. Pace built the two-bedroom, one-bathroom cabin for his son and followed Wright’s “organic architecture philosophy,” using no nails and only bolts in the structure that seamlessly fits into its woodsy environment, listing agent Rob Cronin said. Modern updates like a new bathroom and kitchen, radiant-heated floors and a 380-year-old live-edge, tree-slab bar have been added to the home. Dubai Starts the Year With Big Sales
A total of 1,721 real estate and properties transactions valued at AED 5.8 billion (US$1.58 billion) were conducted during the week ending Friday, according to the Dubai Land Department. The weekly report said that 114 plots were sold for AED 1.36 billion, and 1,183 apartments and villas were sold for AED 3.13 billion. The top three sales for apartments and villas were for one property in Al Thanyah First and two in Palm Jumeirah. ZAWYA
