The funeral of Queen Elizabeth II will be an event like few others to which London has borne witness in recent times. Hundreds of thousands of people, if not millions, will take to the streets of the British capital to mark
the passing of the U.K.’s longest-serving monarch, one who presided over a series of profound changes over the course of her 70-year reign, as her eldest son, King Charles III, takes up the baton.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place on Sept. 19 at 11 a.m. London time, Buckingham Palace said.
