Recent findings suggest the existence of a new species of terror bird, potentially one of the largest ever known. These ancient apex predators, also known as phorusrhacids, once roamed South America during the Cenozoic era. The newly discovered species, named Llallawavis scagliai, is estimated to have lived around 3.5 million years ago and reached a height of 1.2 meters (4 feet). While not the largest terror bird ever discovered, its discovery adds to our understanding of these fascinating prehistoric creatures.
