At 96 years old, Queen Elizabeth II was in surprising good health to quite an advanced age but recent events have made the world of royalists grow more concerned. Several media outlets from Great Britain have reported Prince Charles visiting his mother on a daily basis during her summer at Balmoral. Doctors have grown concerned of the Queen’s health as she has cancelled several commitments she’s had over the last few months.
These visits from Prince Charles have become periodical and the chatter is starting to grow all around the world. Her age doesn’t bring any hope as a person that old is obviously living through their final years. Queen Elizabeth II, all that matters is that she remains rested and tries to prolongue the inevitable as much as possible.
England is about to swear in the next Prime Minister after Boris Johnson stepped down from his job. It is tradition that the Queen is a central part of this ceremony but she already cancelled this appointment. The one next in the line of succession is Prince Charles, who will become King of England after his mother has passed away.
Concerns over his daily visits have to do with the beggining of procedures for the succession itself. Should the Queen’s health continue getting worse, there is no other option for Prince Charles but to begin attending all the ceremonies where the Queen is needed on her behalf. If the worst possible news break in the coming weeks, this would be arguably one of the most significant events in recent history.
Since taking the throne in 1952, Queen Elizabeth II has reigned as England’s monarch for a staggering 70 years and 127 days. For now, she keeps counting as she approaches the one monarch who has reigned longer than she has.
In French history, King Louis XIV has the top spot after reining in his country for more than 72 years. He took the throne at age four and passed away in 1715. If Queen Elizabeth II’s health improves, she will only have a little over to years left in order to become the longest reigning monarch in human history.
