On Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee, Queen Elizabeth II told the public that it was her “sincere wish” that Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, would be referred to as Queen Consort when Prince Charles ascended the throne. Body language expert Judi James told Express.co.uk her predictions on how Camilla will serve her country.
Judi began: “There are clues from Camilla’s body language and behaviour since her marriage to the heir of the throne that she will take something of a ‘night watchman’ approach to the role of Queen.”
She guessed that the Duchess would keep “a lower profile than usual, steering clear of controversy or any attempt at changing or updating”.
After all, Camilla’s relationship with the future King caused a great deal of controversy at the time, and her presence in the Royal Family apparently sparked debate for years until she won the nation over.
It is unsurprising that the expert believes she will not challenge the status quo.

Rather, Judi predicted that Camilla would act “primarily as a safe pair of hands when it comes to passing the current Queen’s legacy on to William and Kate and their son George”.
She continued: “Modernisation is not Camilla’s style and neither is boundary-pushing.
“It would be unthinkable for a woman who has taken so long steadying her public image and creating some levels of popularity with royal fans to even think of rocking that boat, so her adherence to royal tradition should be 100 percent.”
Indeed, Camilla was vilified by many after Prince Charles’ divorce from Princess Diana, and restoring her public image in the face of scepticism was not a quick makeover but a gradual journey.
Judi stated: “Charles might have other plans for his own profile but Camilla is hugely unlikely to be an instigator of any change.”
The expert continued that while ‘Queen Consort’ is one title, Camilla will make one aspect of the role her main focus.
“I believe Camilla will be a Queen Consort who places the emphasis on the word ‘Consort’ more than the word ‘Queen’.
“Her core mission and role in life has always been to be Charles’s wife and supporter and she has succeeded spectacularly at this.”
Over her time in the Royal Family and public eye, she has struck a balance.
The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall’s official website stated: “Her Royal Highness’s charity work is varied but several themes prevail: health, literacy, supporting those in need; the elderly, victims of rape and sexual abuse and domestic violence, empowering women; food; animals, dance and heritage and the arts.”
Indeed, the Duchess of Cornwall is certainly dedicated to the people, supporting more than 90 charities as Patron or President.
However, according to Judi, despite her royal duties: “She will be Charles’ Queen primarily and the country’s second.”
“Her body language rituals have worked so far, with the rather sweet smile and displays of modesty, status-lowering and inner anxiety helping to create a desire to encourage, support and praise from people she would count as her fans.”
Certainly, these body language rituals have paid off, with a YouGov poll just this month revealing that 41 percent believe that Camilla should be Queen Consort.
“But her biggest PR boost comes from the other royals in the Firm. The Queen’s endorsement was crucial, as is William’s long-term stoic response to her in public.”
Judi concluded: “She seems to have made friends in the Firm and she should also make more ‘friends’ with the public after she takes to the throne.”
