The King could’ve denied him the right to wear it, due to him exiting the Royal Family.
Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral is near and right now her coffin is available for visitors to give her a last goodbye after her passing, and on Saturday night her eight grandchildren mounted a 15-minute honor guard at the Palace of Westminster, including Prince Harry in a military outfit.
In order to be able to wore his military uniform during Queen Elizabeth II’s vigil, Prince Harry had to be given a special permission by King Charles III.
This is required due to Harry having resigned his royal duties in 2020, for which he was stripped of his honorary military titles, therefore was forbidden to use his uniform again.
Prince Harry took part of the honor guardalongside his brother, Prince William, who’s next in line to take the throne and the Queen’s other six grandchildren.
It’s still unclear if Prince Harry will be allowed to wear his military uniform at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral on Monday.
King Charles III also granted permission on Friday for his disgraced brother, Prince Andrew, to wear his military uniform during their late mother’s vigil at Westminster Hall.
Prince Andrew was forced out of the Royal Family’s public life after he defended his relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, showing no empathy at all for his victims.
