Princess Charlotte wore a little black dress and hat to match her mother’s.
Today, the royal family, along with friends and world leaders, came together to mourn Queen Elizabeth II.
King Charles III, Queen Consort Camilla, Prince William, Princess Kate, Prince Harry, and Duchess Meghan were among the many royals who attended the late monarch’s funeral service at Westminster Abbey in London. And the Wales’s kids also made an appearance.
Prince George and Princess Charlotte wore coordinating mourning outfits to their great-grandmother’s state funeral. Charlotte wore a little black dress, stockings, flats, and a hat that matched her mother’s, while George wore a dark navy suit.
They were seen arriving in a car with mom Princess Kate and Queen Camilla, and stood by Kate for the service.
Their younger brother, Prince Louis, did not attend. The Sussexes’ children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, were also missing.
Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s children technically .css-7l5upj{-webkit-text-decoration:underline;text-decoration:underline;text-decoration-thickness:0.0625rem;text-decoration-color:inherit;text-underline-offset:0.25rem;color:inherit;-webkit-transition:all 0.3s ease-in-out;transition:all 0.3s ease-in-out;}.css-7l5upj:hover{color:#595959;text-decoration-color:border-link-body-hover;}inherited new royal titles, and can now be referred to as Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, should they choose.
Traditionally, the change in title is an automatic right with the ascension of a new monarch. In 1917, King George V established new rules that granted the children and grandchildren of a sovereign to be automatically entitled to the titles His Royal Highness and prince or princess. (At the time of their births, Archie and Lilibet were the great-grandchildren of a sovereign.)
Meghan and Harry have not commented on their kids’ new titles, and it is unclear if they will keep them.
The state funeral began at 11 a.m. U.K. time.
Following the service, Queen Elizabeth II will be laid to rest at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, the same place her husband of more than 70 years, Prince Philip, was buried following his death last year.
