The new king of England once again showed his temper
Charles III of England has been king for less than a week but he has made several gestures during his brief reign that have attracted attention on social networks.
The first of these came during his proclamation as king. Charles III had to sign the documents to make official the succession of Queen Elizabeth II to him when he irritably asked for some inkwells to be moved away from the table where he had to sign.
Shortly afterwards, already seated in the chair during the signing, Charles III continued to have problems because of the inkwell and asked an usher to remove the inkwell again, in an image that has gone round the world.
This Tuesday, the new King of England has once again been involved in another unpleasant scene, again because of an inkwell and a pen.
It was during his visit to Northern Ireland when he had to sign the visitors’ book. Charles III started to write in the document but got the date wrong.
“Is it September 12?” he asked those present.
“Today is the 13th, sir,” they replied.
It was then that he exclaimed “Oh God, I’ve put the wrong date down”.
But the worst came when Charles III smudged his hand with ink from the pen. He rose angrily from his chair and said “Oh, God, I hate this” and then he handed the pen to Camilla, the queen consort.
Charles III did not stop there, and continued his protests about getting ink on his pen.
“What they do, every stinking time,” he lamented.
