This page contains details of the events which will be happening in the district as we mourn the passing of Her Majesty The Queen and Accession of King Charles III.
A Civic Commemoration and Thanksgiving for the Life of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II takes place at Bradford Cathedral on Sunday 18 September. Please arrive promptly after doors open at 6pm to allow the service to start at 6.30pm.
The service will be attended by the Lord Mayor of Bradford Councillor Martin Love and other dignitaries and everyone is welcome to attend.
Those wishing to attend are asked to RSVP via the Bradford Cathedral website.
For those not able to attend in person, the service will also be live streamed on Bradford Cathedral’s website.
People are invited to join in the National Moment of Reflection which takes place at 8pm on Sunday 18 September. Everyone is invited to congregate on the Cathedral Green outside Bradford Cathedral for the one minute silence or to take part where ever they are.

The funeral of Her Majesty The Queen is being shown on national television. There will also be a national two minute silence as part of the funeral, this will be at 11.55am
For those wishing to come together to watch the service, the Big Screen in Centenary Square will be showing coverage.
It will also be shown live on a big screen at Bradford Cathedral on Monday 19 September. Capacity at the cathedral is 300 so please arrive promptly. The cathedral will be open from 10am to 4pm.
Books of condolence have been opened and floral tributes have been laid across the Bradford district.
The book of condolence in City Hall has been signed by the Lord Mayor of Bradford Councillor Martin Love, the Leader of Bradford Council Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe and the Chief Executive of Bradford Council Kersten England.

An online book of condolence has also been opened. This will be closed at 5pm on Tuesday 20 September.
In line with the official protocols the Lord Mayor of Bradford Councillor Martin Love has written a letter of condolence to offer the sympathies of the district to King Charles III.
Flags on civic buildings and in parks across the district were flying at half-mast as soon as the announcement was made of the death of the Queen. They were raised to full-mast for the Proclamation of the new King and have been lowered to half-mast again where they will remain until after the day of the funeral of The Queen.
The Proclamation of Accession was made at St James’s Palace, London on Saturday 10 September. The Proclamation was then read at the Royal Exchange in the City of London before being read the day after in Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast.
On Sunday 11 September at 2pm the District Proclamation of Accession was read in City Park by the Vice Lord-Lieutenant Helen Thomson, with the Lord Mayor of Bradford, the Leader of the Council and the Chief Executive in attendance.
The reading of the District Proclamation of Accession was followed by a multi-faith gathering for prayers and readings in City Park. Prayers and readings were led by the Rt Revd Bishop Toby Howarth, the Very Revd Andy Bowerman, Dean of Bradford and other leaders of the Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim and Sikh faiths.
A service of meditation and prayer took take place at Bradford Cathedral at 3.15pm on Sunday 11 September.
The bells of City Hall, Bradford Cathedral and churches across the district tolled for an hour on the 9 September from 12noon to mourn the passing of The Queen.
The bells rang again at 12noon on Saturday 10 September to celebrate the Accession of King Charles III.
Buildings in Bradford city centre like many around the world have been lit in purple since the evening of the announcement of death of Her Majesty the Queen. They will remain lit in purple as a mark of respect until the morning of Tuesday 20 September.
