Private jet provider Welojets shares insights on the market in France and anticipates an increasing demand related to the top events in May: Champions League, Cannes Film Festival, and Roland Garros.
Paris, the city of lights and love, attracts millions of yearly travelers for various motives, from a traditional walk down the Champs-Élysées to visiting the Louvre Museum and Eiffel Tower. While those landmarks will always be a motivation to visit France, in May of 2022, stars align to offer visitors three world-renowned events, apart from the amenities that the country has to offer on a regular basis. The Cannes Film Festival, Roland Garros, and The Champions League final will all be hosted there.
France has a fascinating private jet market, which has grown almost 40% in the past year and that highlights London – Nice, London – Paris, and Nice – Paris as its top routes. Also, the major private jet airports are by far Paris Le Bourget and Nice Côte d’Azur, while small jets are the main executive aircraft in the sky, like the Cessna Citation Mustang and the Embraer Phenom 300 and 100.
Furthermore, when flying on a private jet charter to Paris you want to land at a business aviation dedicated Le Bourget Airport. Although one of the most popular private jet terminals in the world, the infrastructure is in place to secure a swift and comfortable entry to France’s capital. It is also conveniently located only 14 kilometers from the city center, and roughly 10 kilometers from the Eiffel Tower.
What’s the price to charter a private jet to France? Well, that depends, as the type of aircraft and route will determine to great extent the final cost. For instance, the price to charter a flight from London to Paris on a small-sized private jet starts at EUR 5,400, while the same aircraft from Madrid can cost EUR 7,500 and from Zurich EUR 6,200.
Passengers will be able to board just 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure and even travel with pets on board, for a completely tailormade experience.
Eric Bailleul, private aviation expert and Welojets broker in France, also shares that helicopters play a relevant role in the market. “Helicopter private charters are common for short-distance flights like Nice to Cannes for example. They are versatile and very comfortable, while also serving as the perfect vehicle to observe panoramic views from the sky in Paris or the French Riviera”, says Bailleul.
Next May, it all starts with the Cannes Film Festival, starting Tuesday 17 through Saturday 28. The 75th edition promises to showcase the best that world cinema has to offer in the most iconic and prestigious film festival in the world.
At the same time, one of the most traditional tennis Grand Slams, the French Open, will start on Sunday, May 22, with the great women’s and men’s finals on the weekend of June 4 and 5.
In late May, Paris will also be the venue of the UEFA Champions League final at the Stade de France. The finalists will be determined during April, although securing a ticket now for one of the most-watched sporting events in the world is a good idea, even though the venue has a capacity of more than 80,000 strong.
Last but not least, also during May and not too far from France, the most iconic Formula One Grand Prix will take place in Monaco. If you’re already in Nice and want to visit Montecarlo, a helicopter flight to Monaco is the best option due to comfort and proximity. The race is scheduled for Sunday, May 29, although the experience starts on Friday with practices and Saturday with the breathtaking qualifiers.
With the fastest private jets‘ demand reaching historic levels due to commercial aviation grounding and a spike in first-time flyers, Welojets recommends booking in advance to secure the right aircraft for your family or travel group. Nevertheless, with access to more than 7,000 aircraft, the company will always thrive to accommodate each travel need with the aim to deliver a unique private jet experience.
