Global consulting firm FTI Consulting has expanded its offerings in Italy with corporate finance and restructuring services.
FTI Consulting’s newly launched Corporate Finance & Restructuring practice advises clients on financial transformations, restructurings, turnarounds, and transactions. The practice is one of FTI Consulting’s five main divisions.
“We are excited about the opportunity to bring our Corporate Finance & Restructuring business to Italy,” said Kevin Hewitt, EMEA Chairman of the US-listed global business advisory firm.
To kick start the practice, FTI Consulting has hired four senior professionals, two of which join from strategy consultancy Boston Consulting Group, and two that join from Milan-based Erre Quadro.
Francesco Leone brings over 25 years of experience leading business transformation and operational restructuring projects for corporate and financial clients. He joins from Boston Consulting Group, where he led the Italy, Greece, Turkey and Israel turnaround and transformation practice. He previously served AlixPartners, Kearney and Monitor Deloitte.
Appointed a Senior Managing Director, Leone leads the Corporate Finance & Restructuring practice.
Also joining from Boston Consulting Group and similarly appointed a Senior Managing Director, Claudia Lotti brings extensive experience in both consulting and interim management roles to the firm. She most recently was a partner at Boston Consulting Group, and previously spent fifteen years at AlixPartners, and three years at Kearney.
Barbara Biassoni and Raffaele Fiorella both bring over 25 years of advisory experience in financial advisory, turnaround and restructuring to FTI Consulting. The duo have been appointed a Senior Advisor.
Biassoni’s track record includes working on financial operations projects, including M&A, business valuations, fairness opinions and impairments tests, business planning, crisis management and liquidity management services. She has particular experience in the energy and utilities, hospitality, telecommunications and media, and transportation sectors.
Fiorella’s experience spans cost rationalisation, business plan design and implementation, liquidity management, business valuations and fairness opinions in various sectors, including construction, gaming and leisure, and aviation. He is a chartered accountant, a statutory auditor, and an expert witness at the Court of Milan.
Diederick van der Plas, a Senior Managing Director and the EMEA Head of Corporate Finance & Restructuring at FTI Consulting, said: “Francesco, Claudia, Barbara and Raffaele bring outstanding expertise and networks, and we look forward to further expanding our business and advising clients with their most complex challenges.”
Earlier this year, FTI Consulting entered the Dutch consulting market with the acquisition of BOLD.
In the EMEA region, FTI Consulting has more than 2,000 employees in 20+ offices across 14 countries. Per the 1st of August 2022, Hewitt is transferring the unit’s leadership to Boston Consulting Group veteran Lars Faeste.
