If you’re in the market for a private business jet, it seems perfectly reasonable that you’d be allowed a degree of custom fit-out for your new plane and now for the first time, the folks at Airbus are making that bespoke dream a reality. The Netherlands-based aircraft manufacturer has just launched a new creative studio based in France, where clients will be able to customise the interior of Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ) recently announced TwoTwenty “Xtra Large Bizjet.”
Before getting into the customisable options that are open to ACJ clients, it’s worth acknowledging just how impressive the TwoTwenty actually is. It’s one of the largest private jets on the market, based on Airbus’ A220-100 commercial airliner but redesigned to create no less than six separate living areas for its 18 passengers. It’s so large that if you need to freshen up on the go, there’s space for a full king size bed and bathroom shower.
Boasting a palatial cabin that spans 785 square feet, the truly enormous interior of the TwoTwenty means there’s ample real estate to shape the space to your will. This is where ACJ’s creative studio comes in, where the team has created a life-sized model of the TwoTwenty cabin in their Toulouse-based offices to allow you to use VR to see the customisable options for yourself.

“We are extremely proud to open this unique creative studio for our customers,” said ACJ President Benoit Defforge.
“Our ACJ TwoTwenty is featuring unmatched personal space with 786 ft2 of floor space. It is important to make them feel the space and ultimate comfort it is bringing. Thanks to the latest technologies we offer our customers a real-time and immersive design experience.”
Areas that you’ll be able to customize include the finishings of the carpets and furniture, with a range of different fabrics, leathers, wood veneers and plated metal options. You’ll also be able to design your own cabin layout and colour schemes, meaning almost the entire experience of flying in a TwoTwenty will be within your control.
The initial 15 custom cabin orders to ACJ will be executed by the Swiss interior design studio Comlux, with the first two already sold to customers. Arriving with a price tag of around US$81 million (AUD$115 million), the TwoTwenty’s will be constructed in Canada before being finished in Comlux’s US factory. So if you’ve been waiting for the option of Drake-level customisation for your private jet, now’s the time to pull the trigger.
