The role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of Wigan Council’s finance team. Reporting to the Strategic Finance Manager you will have responsibility for providing high quality financial advice to the Children Services Directorate, Schools Forum and the schools within the borough.
As a Group Finance Manager you will manage and lead our Schools Finance Team. The service provides a full range of financial services to our schools as well as operating a Peripatetic Bursar Service. You will also lead on the financial management arrangements for the Council’s High Needs Funding.
About you:
As an ideal candidate for this role you will have significant experience and knowledge of Schools and Education finance.
You will have a proven track record in a pressured and deadline driven environment and be able to represent the service and the council at a local and regional level as necessary.
You will possess excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
You will also have the skills required to effectively manage the School Finance team with a passion for helping individuals develop and grow.
