Hot on the heels of announcing its fastest growth in a decade, BDO has continued the momentum of its senior team expansion drive with the hire of four new partners.
The Sydney team has welcomed Justin Harness in the Consulting practice and Steven Kastanias in the Project & Infrastructure Advisory practice. Meanwhile, Eleanor Moffat (Melbourne) and Peter Tracey (Sydney) both join the Business Services wing, and commence their roles next week.
“We are pleased to welcome our new partners,” said Grant Saxon and David Garvey, Managing Partners of BDO’s Sydney and Melbourne offices respectively. “Their joining is testament to the strong growth and demand we’ve seen at the firm over the last twelve months.”
Justin Harness joined BDO from KPMG, where he worked for four years in Sydney and Auckland as a director in its Management Consulting business. Earlier, he worked in industry (public transport) and KPMG in his first spell at the Big Four firm, as well as Macquarie Group and Barclays.
Harness has extensive experience in strategy, business transformation and optimisation, mergers and acquisitions, strategic sourcing, procurement and change management. At BDO, he will help clients plan and navigate their business transformations.
Steven Kastanias joined BDO from project management specialist TSA Management, where he was a consultant in its Infrastructure business. He previously was with EY, the Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance and Leighton Contractors Infrastructure Investments (now Pacific Partnerships).
Kastanias is experienced in major project capital structuring, procurement, divestments, sole-sourcing and public private partnerships. His experience spans the transport, health, education, defence, social impact sectors as well as infrastructure policy and regulation.
Eleanor Moffat is joining BDO’s partnership with more than fifteen years of experience in the family businesses sector. In her last role at Pitcher Partners, she was a Director leading the firm’s Family Office service line. She specialises in organisation, finance and taxation services to family businesses.
Moffat also helps family businesses with wealth and asset management, reporting and compliance.
Peter Tracey was previously the lead partner of KPMG’s Penrith office. He specialises in business and taxation advice to small and mid-market enterprises, with a focus on clients in the manufacturing, construction, wholesalers, food & beverage, medical, legal and real estate sectors.
Prior to joining KPMG in 2017, Tracey spent close to fifteen years with a boutique accountancy and advisory firm in Penrith. Alongside his partner role at BDO, he holds (non-executive) director roles at a number of charities and not-for-profits including the Adam Crouch Foundation, Thorndale, and the Royce Simmons Foundation.
