To eat or not to eat; one may often find themselves in this dilemma, particularly around the evening tea time because that’s when we usually start to crave, yet do not want to load up on calories.
Well, fret not because there is a way to satiate these mid-evening cravings without piling up on unnecessary calories. Pair your cup of evening chai with these low-calorie, oil-free snacks to fulfil your cravings for munchies.

Bengal gram chaat is a bowl of flavours and nutrients that one can have with their evening beverage without any guilt. The vegan and gluten-free snack is packed with proteins and is an excellent source of vitamins, minerals, iron and fibres.
To prepare this snack, mix a bowlful of Bengal gram with finely chopped onions, tomatoes, coriander and lemon juice.

This unique low-calorie snackis a source of essential nutrients. It is cooked by adding grated broccoli and salt to onions that are pre-cooked. Add herbs and spices like oregano, basil, black pepper, and garlic powder.
Follow this up by adding breadcrumbs and almond meal, and give it a good stir. Add soaked chia seeds and create 10-12 balls. Place the balls in an oven that is preheated to 400 F. Bake the broccoli balls for 25 minutes.

To make this delicious snack, soak one cup moong daal in a bowl of water for 20 minutes and drain it. Add three cups of water, salt, and the dal in a pan and cook. Drain the water using a strainer and set the dal to cool for 10 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, add grated carrot, pomegranate seeds, chopped white and green spring onions, raw mango, mint leaves, coriander leaves, green chillies, chaat masala, lime juice, and the moong dal. Mix well and serve.

There is a way to munch on chips without worrying about piling on calories. Instead of regular potato chips, make yourself a bowl of sweet potato chips. Start by rinsing and drying sweet potatoes thoroughly. Slice them as thinly as possible. Toss the slices in a little olive oil to lightly coat. Sprinkle some salt, black pepper and chilli flakes.
Preheat the oven to 220 C and position the oven rack in the centre. Spread the chips in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake until they are golden-brown, flipping chips once at halfway point to ensure they are evenly cooked.

Make lip-smacking coriander fritters or vadis without any oil for the perfect tea-time snack. Mix chopped coriander, gram flour, coriander powder, chilli powder, cumin powder, yoghurt, ginger-garlic paste, and salt to make a smooth dough.
Shape it into small rolls and steam for at least 10 minutes on a steamer. Cool them off, cut them up into slices and serve.
