Due to the high temperatures and long dry spell, the grapes ripened particularly early this year.
Domaines Vinsmoselle, the Grand Duchy’s largest producer of wine and crémant, announced last week that this year’s harvest would begin in late August – early September.
According to Roby Ley, director of the Wine Institute (Institut Viti-Vinicole), Luxembourg has never before experienced such a lack of water, which is why the Institute cannot make any predictions about the quality of the vintage. What is certain is that the harvest will be smaller this year.
