The airplane, initially destined to fly from Lisbon to Charleroi, was forced to land at Findel airport due to the severity of the storm on Sunday evening.
According to reports from RTL in Belgium, turbulences were so severe that some of the 130 passengers on the Ryanair flight vomited, while others started to cry. One of the people on board alleges that throughout the entire time of extreme turbulences, nobody of the cabin crew was to be seen: “We had to share bags for vomiting at some point.”
After it became clear that it was not possible to land at Charleroi airport due to the severity of the storm, the plane changed course. Once safely landed at Findel airport in Luxembourg, passengers had to wait for two hours for a bus to bring them to Belgium.
However, the bus only brought them as far as Charleroi airport, but as they arrived there late at night, many passengers had no possibility of reaching the city. When confronting the airline, the passengers were told to find a solution on their own, which is why some intend to sue the airline.
