TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Indonesia’s airport operator Angkasa Pura I (AP I) president director Faik Fahmi reported that 20 heads of state will attend the G20 summit which is scheduled to take place on November 15 to 16, 2022, in Bali.
“We ensure that we can fully support the G20 implementation,” Faik said at the SOE RUMPI event at the SOE Ministry’s Media Center, Central Jakarta on Monday, November 7, 2022.
Faik explained that the 20 heads of state of the G20 members who will present are Australia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Japan, Turkey, Canada, South Africa, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, China, India, the United States, Italy, Argentina, Russia, Brazil, the European Union, and Mexico.
In addition, non-G20 members with special invitations who will take part include Singapore, Cambodia, Spain, United Arab Emirates, Netherlands, Senegal, Finland, Suriname, and Fiji.
There will also be 10 VVIP guests, namely the President of Zambia, the President of Angola, the President of South Sudan, the Prime Minister of Denmark, Queen Maxima, the President of FIFA, the President of the IOC, Atlantic Council, Elon Musk, and the World Economic Forum.
Therefore, Faik said his side is preparing the airport to support the smooth running of the high-level summit.
“Unlike the G20 in Rome, all presidential delegations can land in one of the three airports. But here it’s only one airport, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport,” Faik added.
Faik mentioned that the average passenger numbers at Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport per day amounted to about 42,000 with 223 flights. “So you can imagine how crowded this airport is,” Faik said.
