Video footage from a Cable Beach “doof” party where a woman was brutally sexually assaulted has been released as police widen their manhunt for the suspect.
More than 100 people have come forward with information and further footage after the event on Sunday, May 29, that left a woman in her thirties with serious head injuries.
“She’s very traumatised from the incident, and quite upset, still very fearful,” Broome Detective Senior Sergeant Brian Beck said.
The woman had walked just metres from the main crowd at the “bush doof” party to use the toilet in the early hours of the morning, when a man approached her from behind.
Police say he struck her several times in the head causing her to fall the ground, where he sexually assaulted her.
He then ran off into the sand dunes.
“It was an isolated area away from the event and it appears the suspect has targeted the victim,” Det Sn Sgt Beck said.

The woman, who is understood to be a Broome local, was taken to Broome Hospital for treatment and is continuing to recover from her injuries.
While police have been inundated with testimonies, they’re calling on the public to help identify the man.
“We’ve had over 100 people come forward, but we know there was a lot more and we know that there’s other people that would have been in the area around that time,” Det Sn Sgt Beck said.
The suspect is described as being between 170 and 177 centimetres tall with dark skin and a slim build.
Anyone with information, or further footage from the party, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
Police are also keen to speak to everyone that attended the event, which is believed to have drawn a crowd of between 100 to 200 people.
