The draw for the pool phase of the World Championships will take place in Jurmala, Latvia at 19:00 local time / 16:00 GMT on May 31, a day before the Beach Pro Tour Elite16 event in Jurmala, which will take place from June 1 to 5. At the conclusion of the draw, 48 teams per gender will be distributed into 12 round-robin pools of four pairs each. The top two teams in each pool and the best four third-placed duos will advance to the elimination rounds. The remaining eight teams ranked third in their pools will play a four-match lucky-loser round to complete the 32 teams in the knockout bracket. The entire tournament will feature 216 matches across 10 days of competition.
Of the 48 berths in each gender, 25 (including two quota places for hosts Italy) were determined on the basis of FIVB entry points. The five continental confederations were also allocated four berths each, accounting for 20 more teams, and three remaining participants were granted wild cards.
