Huawei has presented an updated MatePad Pro 11 during today’s Summer 2022 Smart Office Launch. According to the company, the new MatePad Pro 11 is the world’s thinnest and lightest 11-inch tablet at 5.9 mm and 449 g, beating the likes of the Galaxy Tab S8, iPad Air 2022 and the Xiaomi Pad 5. Additionally, the MatePad Pro 11’s OLED display operates at 2,560 x 1,600 pixels with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 120 Hz refresh rate.
For some reason, Huawei has elected to sell the MatePad Pro 11 with a Snapdragon 870 or a Snapdragon 888, depending on which configuration you choose. Not only does this result in performance and efficiency differences between versions of the same tablet, it means that some MatePad Pro 11 units will be able to charge at 66 W, with Snapdragon 870-powered versions restricted to 40 W. Strangely, Huawei bundles a 40 W charger with Snapdragon 888 units and a 22.5 W charger with Snapdragon 870 ones.
Still, all models feature a 13 MP primary camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide and a 16 MP front-facing camera. Incidentally, all models feature six speakers with support for Huawei’s M-Pencil, a magnetic keyboard and HarmonyOS 3, the company’s latest in-house operating system. Huawei is yet to confirm whether it will sell the MatePad Pro 11 globally. In the meantime, the company has confirmed pricing, configurations and colour options in China.
Already listed on Vmall, Huawei sells the new MatePad Pro 11 in Brocade White, Crystal Diamond White, Galaxy Blue and Obsidian Black colour options with 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB, 256 GB or 512 GB of storage. Prices start at CNY 3,499 (~US$517) with 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage and Wi-Fi-only connectivity. However, the tablet be configured up to CNY 7,699 (~US$1,138) with 12 GB of RAM, 512 GB of storage, LTE connectivity, a keyboard and a pen.
