KUALA LUMPUR (March 11): Malaysia Airlines Bhd said it will resume its full-schedule, twice-daily flights from London Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur from June 30, and that the airline will see an increase in capacity by over 70,000 seats starting from March 27 for the company’s flagship route.
TTG quoted Daniel Bainbridge, who is Malaysia Airlines’ regional director for the UK and Europe, as saying the company “eagerly awaits” the reopening of Malaysian borders on April 1.
“The further increase in capacity of over 70,000 seats is a top priority for Malaysia Airlines on our flagship route, and we remain the only non-stop carrier between London and Kuala Lumpur,” Bainbridge said.
It was reported that the flagship route is operated using the Airbus A350-900 aircraft, featuring business suites as well as business and economy cabins.
“Malaysia Airlines is set to add more than 70,000 seats to its Heathrow-Kuala Lumpur service from March 27.
“The move comes after the Malaysian government confirmed the removal of quarantine for fully-vaccinated international travellers next month,” TTG reported on Thursday (March 10).
