Joe Biden has not dismissed the “intentions” to run again as the President of the US after Tuesday’s mid-term elections results. The 46th President of the US claimed that he would like to make a final decision by early next year.
The statement comes after former US President Donald Trump dropped hints of his running for the Presidency in 2024.
Mr Biden, who turned 80 this month, said: “Our intention is to run again. That’s been our intention, regardless of what the outcome of this election was.
“And the fact that we won, we-I didn’t run.
“The fact that the Democratic Party outperformed anything anyone expected and did better than any off-year presidency since John Kennedy, is one gives everybody a sigh of relief that the MAGA Republicans are not taking over the government again.

“So, my judgment of running when I announce, if I may, and my intention is that I will run again.”
He also took a dig at Mr Trump for his continuous urge to announce his decision to run for the Presidency.
Mr Biden said: “But I am a great respecter of fate, and this is ultimately a family decision. I think everybody wants me to run but we are going to have discussions about it.
“And I don’t feel any hurry, one way or another, to make that judgment today, tomorrow or whenever, no matter what my predecessor does.”

Reuters reported that the White House officials have expressed a sense of vindication that Biden’s fellow Democrats did better than expected.
When asked how other world leaders should view this moment for America, with Trump potentially running again, Mr Biden said the answer was to make sure Trump never returned to power.
He told reporters: “We just have to demonstrate that he will not take power if he does run, making sure he – under legitimate efforts of our Constitution – does not become the next president again.”
Former US President Donald Trump criticized Mr Biden’s policies sharply and has said he will make a “big” announcement next week.

Republicans made modest gains in Tuesday’s elections and are likely to take control of the House of Representatives, but control of the Senate hinges on three races that remained too close to call late on Wednesday.
A so-called “red wave” or large Republican takeover did not occur.
Mr Biden said: “It was a good day, I think, for democracy.”
