I am tired of reading the virtuous condemnations of Donald Trump’s dinner with Kanye West and Nick Fuentes (
Letters, Dec. 5). Yes, it was a mistake and I wish he hadn’t done it and he will pay the political price for it. But for me, an actual Holocaust survivor, who remembers what it was like living under Hitler, the acts of a person are more important. By acts I mean not only symbolic ones like a lunch with somebody, but consequential ones, like accepting your daughter’s conversion to Judaism and thus having Jewish grandchildren. Or by being the president who not only promised but delivered on moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, and engineering the Abraham Accords. That is far more important.
