Malaysia’s Ministry of Health has released the guidelines for electors voting in the 15th general election (GE15) but have tested positive for COVID-19.
Complete the health form that will be sent via SMS to emphasise the role of electors who have tested positive for COVID-19 when voting.
Candidates and other party colleagues who have tested positive for COVID-19 are not allowed to partake in physical election campaign activities. However, they can run a virtual campaign during the Home Surveillance Order (HSO).
When at the polling station, COVID-19 positive voters are to report the status of their COVID-19 infection to the Ministry of Health (KKM) staff stationed at the entrance of the polling station. KKM staff will then proceed to check the risk status on the voter’s MySejahtera profile. These voters will be escorted by KKM staff to the entrance of polling booth and given priority to avoid interaction with other voters.
Safe distancing practices must be upheld, especially when dealing with staff when the face mask is open.
