New information has revealed that some of the testing Huawei Mate 50 devices are packed with 5G access and equips HiSilicon Kirin 9000 5nm chipset and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The previous report reveals that Huawei Mate 50 will be released this year but it may only have 4G network access.
Although Huawei has been facing a lot of difficulties in the market but the company continues to work in a positive direction to develop this phone and bring it among the consumers. Meanwhile, the news of the Huawei Mate 50 series with 5G and new Qualcomm processor is sure could be a big relief for the awaited people. 
4G version:
Following the U.S. ban, Huawei has to give up access to different essential components such as chipsets. Thereafter, the Chinese tech maker cannot even print its chipset design from HiSilicon to chipmakers such as TSMC. The shortage of components is limited to chip printing permission but also to other important materials such as RF receivers, which helps the phone maker to enable 5G access bands. 
Kirin 9000:
Kirin 9000 comes is built with a 5nm process and consists of 1x Cortex-A77 at 3.13 GHz, 3x Cortex-A77 at 2.54 GHz, and 4x Cortex-A55 at 2.05 GHz. The chip comes with a 24 core Mali G78 GPU. The chipset has Huawei Da Vinci Architecture 2.0 NPU architecture including 2 Ascend lite and 1 Ascend tiny core.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1:
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 has a 5G modem-RF solution with up to 10Gbps download speed. The chipset has Snapdragon Sigh camera technology with 18 bit mobile IS. As well new 7th gen Qualcomm AI engine. There is also an improvement to system performance as well as other aspects of the core user interface.
Huawei Mate 50 Series:
Currently, Huawei has not spoken much about this upcoming release but the company’s global consumer business chief, Derek Yu has confirmed that there will be a new Mate device that could launch this year. Surely, the chief has been talking about the Mate 50 series but an official confirmation is still required.

Huawei Mate X3 is the next foldable smartphone and Huawei is also preparing to launch the P60 series. With that being said, Huawei could face a clash of launches for these anticipated flagships.
According to past reports, Huawei is ready to launch the new Mate X3 in the first quarter of this year. On the other hand, the Huawei P60 series is also scheduled in the same quarter.
In that case, what will Huawei do?
There are a total of three scenarios that Huawei could follow.
- Launching both of these together in March
- Launch Mate X3 in early or mid-March and push P60 for early April
- Launch Mate X3 in February and P60 in March
Why?
This year, Huawei is likely to launch a P series and Mate series (not foldable) phones. However, there’s no slot specifically booked for the Mate X3. As Huawei still organizes foldable phone launch events as non-primary lineups.
If we look at the past launch schedules, Huawei unveiled Mate X2 in February 2021, followed by Huawei P50 Pocket flip phone in late the same year. Followed by Mate Xs 2 in April and the Pocket S flip phone in November 2022.
The dual flaghip era is about to return in the Huawei smartphone ecosystem. And Huawei may not like to risk the shipment count of the Huawei P60 series. Therefore, launching Huawei Mate X3 ahead of the P60 series would be a better option rather than launching them together.
We may argue about an exact date for Mate X3, as Huawei has not confirmed any on the matter. But we have to relate that February would still be more suitable for the launch instead of going for March.
This window will provide enough time for the company to market Mate X3 and sell units. It will also create some distance between the launch event of both devices.

Huawei P60 launch preparations are already begun but we could expect that the company may also launch it with pre-installed HarmonyOS 3.1.
A report coming from Chinese media reveals that Huawei could launch HarmonyOS 3.1 alongside the Huawei P60 series. It’s not the first time we’re reading such inputs, as we also speculated HarmonyOS 3.1 for the P60 lineup (read more)
HarmonyOS 3.1 was initially announced during Huawei Developer Conference 2022. However, the company only launched the developer beta version and promised to test the public beta in January 2023.
According to the HarmonyOS 3.1 roadmap, Huawei planned to launch this new HMOS around March and April. This window is also decided to unveil the new P60 series.
Hence, it makes sense for the Chinese tech make to reveal both of these amazing products. It will also correlate with consumers who want to get some new software features specially designed for the Huawei P60 series.
Currently, Huawei has not revealed the features of HarmonyOS 3.1 but we are yet to participate in the beta activity or its smartphone version.
Also, the tech company has not announced such information via the official channels, which we are eagerly waiting for.
The HarmonyOS 3.1 developed preview changelog has new meta capability, web service, document preview, and other important service improvements. This new HarmonyOS 3.1 dev build also has new user interface APIs and development environment capabilities.
Huawei P60:
A recent report reveals that Huawei has finalized the P60 series for launch. And the company is preparing a strategy for its promotion, sales, and consumer interactions.
Meanwhile, a rear TPU cover leak has revealed the camera desing of this upcoming P series smartphone. Showing a new kind of camera layout featuring three openings, which remains ambiguous for the time being. 
It’s also speculated that the phone will launch in the first quarter of 2023, a tradition that has been paused since the Huawei P40 series unveiling in 2020. Since then Huawei only launched the P50 series in 2021, and no new P-branded phone was launched in 2022.
