Huawei has now confirmed that not only does the heretofore-rumored Watch GT 3 Pro exists, it will launch alongside the Mate Xs 2 and other products during the OEM’s upcoming April 2022 press conference. The company has yet to confirm leaks surrounding the wearable’s design and build materials; however, it is currently raising hype through its new set of water-resistance stats.
It seems the Watch GT 3 Pro will launch with the EN13319 certification for immersion-resistance good for up to 30 meters underwater (apparently validated 200 times over in-house). Its predecessor the GT 2 Pro was rated for 50 meters, although it complied with ISO 22810:2010 instead.
According to Huawei, the difference is that the GT 3 Pro can be used for deep-water diving, whereas the previous generation is rated for "shallow-water activities like swimming in a pool or ocean" only. This interesting potential upgrade may also imply scope for new tracking modes within its HarmonyOS-based UI.
