Prince Harry and Meghan’s ‘paper free’ ‘holiday season’ card features a glitzy black-and-white photo from the night they received an award for opposing ‘structural racism’ in the Royal Family but fails to include any mention of Christmas.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shared their annual festive message, wishing everyone ‘health, peace, and a very happy new year’.
The digital e-card is signed off using their royal titles- despite calls in recent days for the pair to be stripped of them after their bombshell Netflix documentary.
But it omits any mention of ‘Christmas’, instead wishing everyone a ‘joyful holiday season’.

The card reads: ‘Wishing you a joyful holiday season.
‘From our family to yours, and on behalf of our teams at The Archewell Foundation, Archewell Audio, and Archewell Productions, we wish you health, peace, and a very happy new year.’
The GIF, which has glimmering white dots, was shared on Twitter by royal author Omid Scobie, who called it their ‘paper-free 2022 Christmas card’.
It includes a photo showing Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, on December 7 as they were honoured with the Ripple of Hope award for their stance against racism.
At the awards ceremony in New York they vowed their war against ‘oppression’ has only just begun as they were given the award by the Robert F Kennedy Human Rights (RFKHR) organisation.
Meghan also talked about her struggle with suicidal thoughts while a royal, telling the audience she ‘didn’t want to be alive anymore’ and revealing that the decision not to end her life ‘wasn’t easy’, in remarks echoing those made during her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The pair were recognised alongside figures such as Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky. According to the RFKHR, honourees are those who have demonstrated ‘an unwavering commitment to social change and worked to protect and advance equity, justice, and human rights’.
Ms Kennedy, daughter of Robert F Kennedy, said the Sussexes had been ‘incredibly brave’ in addressing the issues of racial justice and mental illness.
The release of Harry and Meghan’s ‘holiday season’ GIF comes just a few days after the Prince and Princess of Wales released their own Christmas card, with a picture of Kate and William walking hand-in-hand with their three children in the grounds of the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.
Charles also released his first Christmas card as monarch this week, using a photograph of himself and the Queen Consort at a Highland Gathering just days before the Queen died.

Meghan and Harry chose not to include their children Archie and Lilibet in their Christmas photo this year.
Last December they used a lovely candid picture of the four of them, giving the public their first glimpse of Lilibet Diana, who is now 16-months.
But royal fans have had plenty of photos of the one-year-old and her three-year-old brother to keep them happy in recent weeks, with Harry and Meghan sharing an array of family snaps in their Netflix docu-series.
Their youngest child took centre stage in episode six, with tender footage showing their daughter apparently just after her birth and celebrating her first birthday earlier this year with a garden picnic in Windsor.

Meanwhile, there are growing tensions within the Royal Family after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released the second ‘volume’ of their show on Thursday.
In this week’s instalment of the docu-series, Harry and Meghan accused Prince William of yelling and King Charles of lying when they refused to bless the couple’s request for a ‘half in half out’ Megxit that would allow them to earn a fortune while picking and choosing royal duties and keeping all their titles.
The Duke of Sussex alleged his older brother, now heir to the throne, scared him in January 2020 while he ‘screamed and shouted’ at him in front of his father and grandmother when he tried to thrash out a deal to leave the UK.
Harry also accused Charles of telling untruths to his face and Her Majesty of saying nothing at the now infamous ‘Sandringham Summit’, and told of the ‘heartbreaking’ rift with his brother.

He said: ‘It was terrifying to have my brother scream and shout at me and my father say things that just simply weren’t true. And my grandmother, you know, quietly sit there and take it all in’.
The Duke of Sussex claimed: ‘I went in with the same proposal that we’d already made publicly, but once I got there I was given five options – one being all in, no change, five being all out. I chose option three in the meeting – half in, half out. Have our own jobs but also work in support of the Queen. It became very clear very quickly that goal was not up for discussion or debate’.
Harry then claimed the Palace did not seek his permission to put out a joint statement denying claims William ‘bullied’ the Sussexes out of the Royal Family. Viewers said that Harry was implying that William did.
He said: ‘I couldn’t believe it. No one had asked me permission to put my name to a statement like that… [Meghan] burst into floods of tears, because within four hours they were happy to lie to protect my brother… and yet they were never willing to tell the truth to protect us.’
Here are the key points and revelations from Harry & Meghan:
Episode four
– Meghan said it was ‘really important’ for the King to walk her down the aisle at her wedding to Harry.
– Duchess recalled thinking about taking her own life, saying: ‘It was like ‘All of this will stop if I am not here’.’
– Harry said it was ‘heartbreaking’ to see his brother’s communications office ‘copy’ the behaviour of their father’s by ‘trading’ stories with the press.
Episode five

– Harry said it was his decision to step back as a working royal, not his wife’s.
– Harry claimed the timing of a meeting with senior royals at Sandringham about the couple’s future was deliberately arranged so Meghan could not attend. Harry said his brother began to ‘scream and shout’ at him during their meeting about moving abroad.
– Harry said he wrote to his father in January 2020 to say that he and his wife would be willing to relinquish their titles if the couple’s plan to move to Canada as working royals did not work out.
– The Duke and Duchess of Sussex claimed the institution ‘blocked’ Harry from seeing his grandmother, the Queen, after they decided to step back as senior royals.
Episode six
– Home video footage appeared to show the couple watching their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey before kissing.
– They claim they saw the interview differently to the world. Tyler Perry claimed they could have said much more.
– Other footage showed Harry holding up his phone to Meghan to show her a text from his brother William and her reaction is to say ‘wow’ as she looks at its screen.
