King Charles has reportedly refused to discuss with friends bombshell allegations made by Prince Harry in his memoir Spare.
Last week Harry told the Telegraph there could have been two books, raising the possibility of another title and more revelations about the Windsors.
Mr Bower, writing in the Daily Mail, said no one knows more than the monarch how Harry has “barely scratched the surface” when it comes to King Charles’s marriage to Diana, Princess of Wales, and his romance with Camilla.
The author also claimed King Charles’s silence over the book’s claims is in part driven by self-awareness that he did not support his sons enough after their mother was killed in a car crash.
Mr Bower insisted in his op-ed that it was no surprise to him to hear of a “mooted peace summit” between the King and the Sussexes, with “sources” at the palace suggesting the sovereign might ignore Harry’s “treachery” and seek reconciliation.
The possibility of a second book will have given palace officials “the most pause” as they fear more “embarrassing revelations” and “vitriolic accusations” from Harry, according to Mr Bower.

Princess Diana’s former therapist Julia Samuel has warned against “venting all our feelings to all people” amid the release of Prince Harry‘s Megxit memoir.
Throughout his memoir, the 38-year-old provided readers with revelation after revelation.
Prince Harry even made comments about his relationship with his brother Prince William, father King Charles and step-mother Queen Consort Camilla.
However, Ms Samuel has suggested recognising boundaries can help people protect themselves.
Writing in the Times, she said: “Boundaries are the limits or rules we each establish to protect ourselves.
“We should not be venting all our feelings to all people — promiscuous honesty, telling everyone everything, doesn’t help any of us.
“Recognising that boundaries enable us to take different versions of ourselves to different environments, like work, friends and family, is important for all of our mental health.
“When we indiscriminately express unfiltered feelings, we can disturb those around us, and not receive the empathic response we need.”
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s biographer has launched a scathing attack against the Royal Family’s “silence” over the bombshell claims made by the Duke of Sussex.
Harry’s new book Spare, as well as a series of television interviews he conducted to promote it, has seen him make stunning accusations against the Royal Family.
Buckingham Palace has not commented on any claims made by him, but that stance has been angrily torn apart by Omid Scobie.
The Yahoo! News Royal Executive wrote in his latest column on the website: “While it may be true that Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace have chosen not to answer requests for comment from journalists (including myself) about the revelations in Spare, in my experience of royal reporting the reality of the institution’s silence might not be quite what it seems.
“Despite the tired ‘never complain, never explain’ facade, an assortment of Royal Family sources and friends have all been busy speaking to media outlets since the contents of the book first leaked to British newspapers ahead of its 10 January debut.
“Whilst these sources may be speaking out entirely independently, given how tight knit the Royal Family inner circle is, I doubt they would speak to the media without at least some form of tacit approval from the royals.”
But Mr Scobie admitted the “silence” from the Royal Family over the claims from Harry “seems to be working”.
Nigel Farage has spoken out and said he believes the Duke and Duchess of Sussex “want Clarkson to be destroyed”.
On GB News, Nigel Farage spoke to host Dan Wootton about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s statement regarding Jeremy Clarkson, who has recently apologised to the royal couple over his article he wrote about the Duchess of Sussex for the Sun.
On Monday, Jeremy Clarkson wrote an apology on Instagram and said he had submitted the article “in a hurry” and he had been referencing the fantasy television show Game of Thrones when writing about Meghan Markle.
He added: ”I knew what had happened straight away. I’d been thinking of a scene in Game of Thrones but I’d forgotten to mention this. So it looked like I was actually calling for revolting violence to rain down on Meghan’s head.
“I was mortified and so was everybody else. My phone went mad. Very close friends were furious. Even my own daughter took to Instagram to denounce me.”
On GB News, host Dan Wootton and guest Nigel Farage reacted to the royals’ statement, in which former politician Mr Farage said he believed Mr Clarson should not have apologised.
He said: “To apologise in the way that he did was wrong. I mean you can say ‘look if what I wrote upset you, I’m sorry, but I wrote it because I believed it at the time or I was making a sort of analogy with Game of Thrones’.
“And you can say that from your toenails to the follicles on your head that you apologise with your whole being and soul but you can’t appease bullies.”
Mr Farage then added: “They used the opportunity to accuse him of being a conspiracy theorist, a misogynist, and a hate-monger. You begin to understand this is what cancel culture is actually all about.
“It isn’t about disagreeing, and asking for backtracks and apologies, it’s about the destruction of those with different views.
GB News host Dan Wootton has slammed Prince Harry as the “Duke of Delusion” as he accused the 38-year-old of “blackmailing” the Royal Family.
Prince Harry used his autobiography ‘Spare’, which hit bookshelves on January 10, to discuss his life in the Firm.
However, the Duke of Sussex also made several claims about his relatives, including brother Prince William, father King Charles and step-mother Queen Consort Camilla.
Following its release, the father-of-two demanded an apology from the Firm for the treatment of his wife Meghan Markle.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, Prince Harry said: “You know what you did, and I now know why you did it. And you’ve been caught out, so just come clean.”
Wootton responded to the Duke’s recent comments and suggested the Sussexes should instead issue an apology.
Writing for MailOnline, the Kiwi-born journalist claimed: “It’s emotional blackmail on a global scale.
“Issue a grovelling apology to my wife and I against your better judgement.
“Then forgive us for spilling your biggest secrets and darkest moments, laced with the most grotesque criticism to which you can’t respond, to the highest bidder – or there’s even worse to come.
“That was the twisted threat from Prince Harry briefed personally, somewhat ironically, given his apparent hatred of the British Press, to one of his favourite propagandists in the print media at the weekend.
“The Duke of Delusion warned sinisterly in yet another deranged interview that he has a further 400 pages of material ready to publish, including further toxic revelations about his father and brother.”
Princess Diana’s former butler Paul Burrell spoke to Dan Wootton on GB News about the late Princess of Wales would have felt about Prince Harry‘s scathing memoir.
Paul accused Harry of having double standards when it comes to his actions compared to other people’s.
Mr Burrell pointed out the Duke of Sussex’s support for discussing mental health issues and then discussing people in his book in a derogatory manner including his matron from school who he said was very ugly.
GB News host Mr Wootton stated that the memoirs comments “show a really vile and nasty side to his character” which “is anything but compassionate”.
The former royal staffer claimed: “His mother would say, ‘Shhh Harry, be quiet,’ I heard her say that so many times.
“She would be devastated. Harry is wrong. Harry is viewing this through the eyes of an eleven-year-old boy whose heart broke when his mother died.
“She would say, ‘Harry be quiet because you’ve done enough damage. Your job was to support your brother on his way to be King and to be there for him’.
“That is what Diana thought, she thought that Harry would always be there for William…and that’s not going to be the case.”

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld and contributor Kat Timpf mocked the royal couple after Harry’s bombshells claims in his memoir.
Ms Timpf said: “Everyone’s got to be really careful and not hang out with them ever because this one is a tell-all which means they told it all and now they’re going to need to tell more.
“They’re going to need to find other people to get dirt from and then that will be in the next book.”
The host added: “You can’t trust this pair!”

Speaking on his show this evening, the veteran broadcaster said he had “impeccable sources” who believe the King has not contacted his son, and doesn’t plan to. Mr Morgan said that his sources believe Charles is “absolutely livid”.
And he added they told him there “has been no contact whatsoever” with anyone in Montecito, California, where the couple live.

Tessa Dunlop, a historian, writer and broadcaster, reacted furiously to the host, who tore into the Duke of Sussex following the release of his hotly-anticipated book, Spare last week.
Mr Morgan asked her: “Why would two people who hate everything the royals seem to stand for, hate the monarchy, are intent on destroying it, have done nothing but trash it and diminish it in the last two years.
“Why on earth would they want to be at a coronation of the next monarch of this country?”
Ms Dunlop responded: “Piers, I thought you had read the 400-plus pages. You would have then got the message loud and clear, there is no macro Harry plan. He is a dyed-in-the-wool royalist.”

Read the full storyA spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said: “On December 25, 2022, Mr Clarkson wrote solely to Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex. The contents of his correspondence were marked private and confidential.
“While a new public apology has been issued today by Mr Clarkson, what remains to be addressed is his long-standing pattern of writing articles that spread hate rhetoric, dangerous conspiracy theories and misogyny.
“Unless each of his other pieces were also written ‘in a hurry’, as he states, it is clear that this is not an isolated incident shared in haste, but rather a series of articles shared in hate.”Jeremy Clarkson has said he emailed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on Christmas Day to apologise over his column in The Sun newspaper in which he said he “hated” Meghan.
The piece, in which the 62-year-old TV presenter said he dreamed of the Duchess being paraded through British towns and publicly shamed, became the Independent Press Standards Organisation’s (Ipso) most complained-about article after its publication.
The Sun later apologised and said it regretted the publication of the column which last week surpassed more than 25,000 Ipso complaints.
Harry branded the article about his wife “horrific, hurtful and cruel” during an interview with ITV’s Tom Bradby to discuss his autobiography Spare, adding that what Clarkson had written would encourage people around the world to believe it is an acceptable way to treat women.
In a long statement on his Instagram account, the presenter said he emailed the couple on Christmas Day to say his language in the column had been “disgraceful” and he was “profoundly sorry”.
He said: “One of the strange things I’ve noticed in recent times is that whenever an MP or a well-known person is asked to apologise for something, no matter how heartfelt or profound that apology may be, it’s never enough for the people who called for it in the first place.
“So I’m going to try and buck the trend this morning with an apology for the things I said in a Sun column recently about Meghan Markle. I really am sorry. All the way from the balls of my feet to the follicles on my head. This is me putting my hands up. Its a mea culpa with bells on.
“Usually, I read what I’ve written to someone else before filing, but I was home alone on that fateful day, and in a hurry. So when I’d finished, I just pressed Send. And then, when the column appeared the next day, the landmine exploded.”
Clarkson described the moment he picked up a copy of The Sun to “see what all the fuss was about.”
He continued: “We’ve all been there, I guess. In that precise moment when we suddenly realise we’ve completely messed up. You are sweaty and cold at the same time. And your head pounds. And you feel sick. I couldn’t believe what I was reading. Had I really said that? It was horrible.
“I knew what had happened straight away. I’d been thinking of a scene in Games Of Thrones, but I’d forgotten to mention this. So it looked like I was actually calling for revolting violence to rain down on Meghan’s head.
“I was very angry with myself because in all those controversial days on Top Gear, when I was accused of all sorts of things, it was very rarely sexism.
“I was mortified and so was everyone else. My phone went mad. Very close friends were furious. Even my own daughter took to Instagram to denounce me.”

The King has been warned the Sussexes “will not compromise” after Prince Harry demanded an apology from his father during an interview with CBS to promote his new memoir Spare
King Charles has been urged to “abandon” any thoughts of peace talks with his estranged son as the Sussexes “will not compromise” and demand only a “grovelling apology”.
Former journalist Tom Bower, who wrote an unauthorised and critical biography of Meghan Markle, urged the palace to instead issue a statement rebutting the explosive claims made throughout recent TV interviews and Prince Harry’s memoir.
Pressure has been mounting on the King to reach something resembling peace with Harry as his coronation looms, but Mr Bower told Good Morning Britain: “There’s no compromise with the Sussexes. They are set on one thing which is to get a grovelling apology, a capitulation. They want William, Kate and King Charles to say that the Sussexes are absolutely right and have been wronged. But they’re not right and haven’t been wronged. For the Royal Family to in any way seek a compromise with a couple who have proven themselves to be so unreliable, untrustworthy and deceptive is a recipe for undermining the monarchy.”
The Duke said in a CBS interview: “The ball is very much in their court but Meghan and I have continued to say that we will openly apologise for anything that we did wrong. But every time we ask that question no one is telling us the specifics of what we did wrong. There needs to be a constructive conversation, one that can happen in private, that doesn’t get leaked.”
Archie Harrison and Lilibet Diana would be “very welcome in London” should their parents, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, be invited to attend King Charles III’s coronation in May, a royal historian suggested.
Archie and Lilibet have spent a limited time in the United Kingdom since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex unveiled their plans to start their news lives in the United States in January 2020.
Despite the current state of Harry and Meghan’s relationship with the Royal Family, expert Gareth Russell suggested the King will leave the door open for reconciliation and would welcome the possibility to spend time with his youngest grandchildren.
Russell said: “We do know King Charles III has kept the invitation to the coronation open.
“And he’s made it really clear that not just the Duke of Duchess of Sussex but also Lilibet and Archie are very welcome in London in May for his coronation.”
He told US Weekly: “I think the doors are open, both sides are saying the doors are open.
“But I don’t think the channels of communication are going to be open for quite some time.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were “snubbed” and “not welcome” at a glitzy BAFTA Tea Party in Los Angeles because it would be a “PR disaster”, sources have claimed.
The British Academy Film Awards event was attended by a host of stars, including critically-acclaimed actors Brendan Fraser and Cate Blanchett, but executives in London had decided the Sussexes were not on the guest list for the bash on Saturday at the Four Seasons Hotel, according to The Sun.
The Sun’s source, who is reportedly a BAFTA consultant, told the newspaper: “BAFTA decided it was a terrible idea. They thought it would be a PR disaster.”
Officially a spokesman for BAFTA said the Sussexes’ attendance “was not discussed whatsoever”. He added: “The BAFTA Tea Party in LA is for those involved in this year’s film awards season, so film awards contenders and nominees.”
Prince William is the president of BAFTA and the source added that the US team were reminded this was the case and if the Sussexes went to the event it might cause some unwelcome headlines, given the Duke of Sussex’s apparent attacks on the Royal Family in his memoir and in a spate of TV publicity interviews.
They said: “So for them to roll out the red carpet to Harry and his wife would be like setting off a nuclear bomb. It’s a no-go.”Meghan’s absence from the media spotlight during the coverage of Prince Harry’s book could be because the Duchess is planning to release her own bombshell memoir, a royal commentator has claimed.
Writing for news.com.au, Daniela Elser pointed out that the Sussexes have “largely been a double act” prior to Harry’s book, with the Duke being present in some regard throughout Meghan’s various media appearances over the last year – but the same, it seems, cannot be said for Harry’s latest press appearances to promote his book.
Ms Elser also observed that Spare did not engage much with Meghan’s accusations of racism against the Royal Family, or go into depth about the Duchess’ alleged bullying (which Meghan has vehemently denied) beyond claiming that it was invented by the Firm.
The commentator wrote: “Given the word count in Spare dedicated to his beleaguered ‘todger’ you’d think that the devoted husband would give over more – or even real – space to the countering or pushing back against the most damaging accusations made against his wife,” adding: “There are other key Sussex dramas that Harry’s ghostwritten autobiography fails to meaningfully deal with.”
This, combined with the fact that it has been widely reported that Harry and Meghan’s contract with Penguin Random House was for a multi-book deal, has led to speculation that the Duchess herself may be penning a book, in which her side of the story will come to the fore.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Edward Coram-James, the Chief Executive at GoUp, claims that in order to “revive his reputation”, the Duke of Sussex will need to work on a few areas within his life to gain back the trust from the Royal Family and the British public.
Mr Coram-James said: “He can revive his reputation, but this will take time.”
He added that he believes this will take “at least three [to] four years”.
The chief executive said that a “low profile” and a “lack of controversy” will be needed in order to restore his reputation.
Mr Coram-James added that the 38-year-old could combine these with a “diligent focus” on various areas that the Duke is known for.

A British columnist has rhetorically asked where Meghan Markle has been while her husband’s tell-all memoir flew off the shelves this week.
Sarah Vine dubbed her noticeable absence as “uncharacteristic” as the sales of Harry’s Spare took off. In her column piece for the Mail on Sunday, Ms Vine asks “where was Meghan?”
In the Mail on Sunday piece, Ms Vine wrote: “I don’t mean in terms of the book – after all, her fingerprints are all over that. I mean physically, where is she?”.
She added: “We haven’t seen hide nor hair of her for days. Which, really, is most uncharacteristic”. Speaking of the Duchess, she added: “Normally she never leaves [Prince] Harry’s side.
“Normally she’s practically surgically grafted on to him, hanging off him like an extra appendage.”

The title of the memoir comes from the traditional phrase ‘the heir and the spare’, highlighting the idea that the first born would inherit and the spare would take their place in case anything happened to them.
The father of two mentioned in the book and in interviews how he always felt that William was treated differently to him.
n his memoir he wrote: “I was the shadow, the support, the Plan B. I was brought into the world in case something happened to Willy.
“I was summoned to provide backup, distraction, diversion and, if necessary, a spare part. Kidney perhaps. Blood transfusion. Speck of bone marrow.”

The Royal Family has remained silent on the issue since the release of ‘Spare’ on January 10. Amid speculations about his retaliation strategy, the King has offered his first hints about how he would respond, Mr Bower said.
Writing for the Daily Mail, Tom Bower said King Charles reportedly caught many guests off guard during a recent private dinner at Clarence House where he expressed his “obvious reluctance” to tackle his son’s disloyalty.
Instead of confronting Harry, the monarch will “shy away from a bitter battle”, King Charles told his guest, Mr Bower reported.
While royal sources suggested the Royal Family was “angry” and “hurt” by Harry’s damning revelations, King Charles might never respond to the accusations.
Mr Bower explained: “Such a suggestion must have truly shocked Britain’s monarchists, a constituency that makes up the vast majority of King Charles’ subjects.”
