Avoiding Arsenal transfer news looks a solid tactic today if you’re a Gooner.
That’s because Chelsea are on the verge of signing Mykhailo Mudryk.
The Ukraine international had looked poised to be joining Arsenal, but the Blues have swooped in and offered more money [Sky Sports] – and £50,000-a-week more in salary, as covered by HITC Sport – in order to secure his signature.
As a result, the North Londoners have been forced to look at alternative targets – and they might’ve found one.
According to 90 Min, Arsenal are now monitoring Tottenham Hotspur-linked Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Like Mudryk, the Napoli attacker turns 22 early in 2023 and is one of Europe’s most promising young talents.
Whether Arsenal can get him, though, remains to be seen.
There’s a lot more competition for him than there was for Mudryk who, until Chelsea’s late surge, appeared to only have Mikel Arteta’s side in for him.
As opposed to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia who has Spurs, Newcastle United and Liverpool all rumoured to be keen on.
The good news is that Arsenal must be a lot more desperate now.
And any money they were prepared to spend on the Shakhtar Donetsk winger must be invested on the Georgia international, who has 12 assists in all competitions this season [Transfermarkt] – six more than Mudryk has [Transfermarkt] in his league this season.
Kvaratskhelia has 21 goal involvements in 20 outings so far, compared to a combined 18 goals and assists in as many games for the blonde-haired assassin.
