West Ham United face mission impossible with Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk allegedly desperate to join Arsenal.
CBS journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed that the 21-year-old Ukrainian attacker wants a move to Arsenal above all else in the January transfer window.
West Ham manager David Moyes allegedly wants to bring Mudryk to the London Stadium.
However, with the Ukraine international keen to link up with Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta at the Emirates, it may well be back to the drawing board for the Hammers.
The fleet-footed attacker is clearly very keen to move to North London…
CBS journalist Ben Jacobs told Give Me Sport:
From Mudryk’s point of view, he wants Arsenal, it’s as simple as that. He said that many times including directly to me in an interview that I did about two months ago, he said he can’t say no to Arsenal. He’s spoken directly with Zinchenko his countryman, he’s very impressed by Mikel Arteta and the style that the team play.
Sport Arena claim that the Shakhtar attacker could be available for around £20 million in January or next summer.
Meanwhile, The Daily Mail suggests that he could cost closer to £50 million.
We think he’d be a great addition for West Ham. Arsenal’s interest in the Ukrainian, and his desire to move to north London, will undoubtedly are a problem for us though.
Mudryk has bagged 12 goals and 17 assists already in just 44 games for the Ukrainian outfit. And he has really shone in the Champions League this season with two goals and two assists to his name in just two games (Transfermarkt).
He has 10 goals and eight assists to his name in just 18 games this season for Shakhtar (Transfermarkt).
The young winger is a real talent.
He possesses impressive pace, exemplary technique and has a real hunger to prove himself at the very highest level.
Chris Sutton recently described the young attacker as ‘rapid’. Meanwhile, MSN have labelled him as ‘absolutely unreal’.
We’d be delighted if West Ham signed Mykhaylo Mudryk either in January or next summer.
Judging by his latest comments on his future though, Arsenal seem to be in pole position to win the race for his signature.
