Prince Harry‘s decision to lay bare the most intimate details of his life and the feud with his family in Spare has backfired among many Americans. Patricia Bardaghaiw, 56, a novelist from Connecticut, told The Sun: “I didn’t like this sort of ‘truth’ — it is over-sharing.” Referring to the Duke of Sussex’s recount of the frostbitten penis he suffered after his trip to the North Pole with Walking with the Wounded in 2011, she continued: “I could have done without the frozen penis. But that’s our society now.”
Marlon Bradford, 49, from Memphis, also said: “Harry should have recognised he’s not like the rest of us and not exposed all that dirty linen. It’s an ugliness we don’t really want to see, even though all families have that side to them. It’s made so many people uncomfortable.” And Sheila Jones, a saleswoman from Danbury, Connecticut, said: “Meghan and Harry have destroyed the Royal Family.”

Princess Martha Louise of Norway’s fiancé, Durek Verrett, has caused controversy in his partner’s home country by discussing his royal connections in a TikTok video.
In a live broadcast on the social media app, Mr Verrett spoke openly about King Harald, Queen Sonja and Crown Prince Haakon, just two months after the Royal Family made an agreement that this would not happen.
The Norwegian press have reportedly reacted strongly to the contents of the video.
Last November the princess officially stepped back from her royal duties to focus on her alternative medicine business with Mr Verrett.
As part of the agreement made with the Royal Family, the couple can no longer use the title of princess or refer to members of the Royal House on their own social media channels, media productions or in connection with commercial activities.
Nile Gardiner has blasted Prince Harry‘s “hatchet job attack” on the Royal Family for backfiring “spectacularly” during an appearance on GB News.
The former aide to Margaret Thatcher noted that the backlash following Spare’s release could also be causing “divisions in camp Harry and Meghan”.
The prince has seen a dip in his popularity both in the UK and US since the book came out, as he made numerous damaging allegations about the Firm.
Mr Gardiner told host Dan Wootton: “My view is that Harry’s hatchet job attack on the Royal Family has been a really vicious piece of work actually.
“It has spectacularly backfired fortunately upon both Harry and Meghan here.
“I think the British public have turned Harry really into a pariah as a result of this very nasty book.
“Also in the United States as well, the popularity of Harry and Meghan has fallen significantly and I do think that Harry and Meghan definitely underestimated the level of backlash there was going to be against Spare.
“Hence the reason I think Meghan has been rather quiet.”
On Tuesday, Princess Eugenie announced that she is expecting her second child.
The new baby will change the current line of succession to the British throne as it will be the 13th in line to the throne.
Princess Eugenie took to her Instagram page to make the pregnancy announcement and posted a picture of her son August kissing her baby bump.
As the caption, Princess Eugenie wrote: “We’re so excited to share that there will be a new addition to our family this summer.”
Cressida Bonas, who is a close friend of the princess, liked the photograph instantly.
Cressida is known for her relationship with Prince Harry, who she dated from May 2012 to April 2014 and was introduced to the prince by Princess Eugenie.
It was reported that Cressida and Prince Harry ended their relationship amicably as in 2018 she was a guest at the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix docuseries ‘Harry and Meghan’ was released in December and was the last time Meghan’s voice has been heard in the public sphere.
The Duchess’ last public appearance was in New York when she and Harry accepted the Ripple of Hope award for their battle against structural racism.
Since then, the release of Prince Harry’s bombshell autobiography has seen the father-of-two give a number of explosive interviews about his family.
Meanwhile, Meghan has ensured that she has kept a low-profile by focusing on her private family life in California.
It has been claimed by HELLO! that the Duchess has chosen to focus on her two children, Archie and Lilibet.
Prince Andrew has reportedly been booted out of the posh Buckingham Palace apartment on the directives of King Charles, a news report has stated.
According to The Sun, the disgraced Duke of York “was told he can no longer use his suite of rooms”.
He has already been forced to close the office there
Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank recently announced they are expecting their second child this summer, sparking rumours they could also be gearing up for a big house move.
With their young family expanding, the couple might be looking for somewhere with more space.
The family currently split their time between Portugal and the UK, after they moved to the CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club as part of Jack’s work managing a 300-home development with property magnate Mike Meldman.
While in London is thought they have been staying at Nottingham Cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace.
Known by the family as Nott Cott, the property has also been a home for the Prince and Princess of Wales following their wedding in 2011 and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, before they relocated to Frogmore Cottage.
The charming house only has two bedrooms, meaning Eugenie and Jack may be on the lookout for somewhere bigger.
On Wednesday evening, GB News ran a segment about the recent staged protest at Buckingham Palace in which supporters of the campaign group Republic placed a massive ‘polling station’ sign on the palace gates as they call for an elected Head of State.
Dan Wootton spoke about the campaign and asked his show guest, royal biographer Tom Bower, about what other factors could “undermine” King Charles’ coronation.
Host Dan Wootton said on the Republic campaign: “It’s clear now that Republicans feel empowered by Prince Harry’s vicious attacks on the monarchy, with the group vowing to stage further stunts in the run-up to May’s coronation.
Dan Wootton also suggested that King Charles’ coronation may be “spoilt” by “those closer to home” as well.
He said: “With no [response] from the Palace on whether the Sussexes will be allowed to attend the national celebration following bombshell accusations against the monarchy.
“The Palace’s dignified silence now has media tongues wagging with speculation as to whether or not the couple, or just solo Prince Harry, with chose to or even be allowed to attend the celebrations.”
Dan Wootton then spoke to his guest, Tom Bower, a former BBC journalist who has written the biography ‘Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors’.
The GB News host asked Mr Bower if he believed Buckingham palace would take an “aggressive stance” or “continue to appease” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Tom Bower answered: “Well I think it’s even worse than that because I think that King Charles is showing the very weakness that I always feared.
“I think the British public wants a line drawn under this whole saga. They want these dangerous people from Montecito to be silenced.”
Prince Harry has been criticised on GB News as Paul Burrell claims he was “brought up better” than attacking his family.
Mr Burrell, who served as royal butler to Harry’s late mother Princess Diana, accused Harry of going after an institution that his mother “loved” and added that the Queen would be “turning in her grave”.
The former royal staff member appeared on a GB News panel on Wednesday evening to discuss the continuing fallout from Harry’s memoir Spare, which was published earlier this month.
He told host Dan Wootton: “We wouldn’t want any harm come to Harry and Meghan, but if they stayed quiet and lived a dignified life, and did the work they were supposed to do….
“I know the Americans love the Royal Family, so why would Harry want to destroy and dismantle the very institution which he came from, which his mother loved?
“Why would he want to do that? So Harry, stay quiet! It’s time for them to stay quiet.”
Royal photographer Arthur Edwards began working for members of the Royal Family in the seventies.
Speaking to HELLO’s Emmy Griffiths, Andrea Caamano and royal editor Emily Nash, Mr Edwards detailed the rocky start to his relationship with King Charles.
Explaining in the new 50-minute episode of The Right Royal podcast, Mr Edwards discussed some of their “serious confrontations”, including their earliest fight.
He claimed that after some years, their relationship “blossomed” after he saw what the King did for others “day in, day out”.
Speaking of being “impressed” by him, he added: “I really thought this man gets things done.
“And so not only did I not want to be aggressive anymore, I wanted to support him as much as I could.”
In the third episode of the podcast, Mr Edwards went on to say that their relationship cannot be classed as friendship, despite the King being his favourite member of the Royal Family “without a doubt”.
Speaking of the King, he added: “I admire him.
“[I] think what a great man he is.”
King Charles III’s coronation could be overshadowed by the publication of a book by Virginia Giuffre, who accused Prince Andrew of sexual abuse.
Ms Giuffre, 39, has reportedly signed a book deal 12 years in the making which is set to detail alleged meetings with Prince Andrew.
She claims she was trafficked by convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell, alleging the Duke of York sexually assaulted her when she was 17.
Last year, Andrew, 62, settled a civil claim by Ms Giuffre with a reported £3 million out-of-court settlement.
Andrew has repeatedly denied the allegations and the sum was not an admission of liability.
As part of that agreement, both parties consented to a one-year gag clause which has prevented Ms Giuffre from repeating any allegations against the Prince.
However, the agreement ends in March, just weeks ahead of King Charles’ coronation on May 6.
Princess Charlotte is the eldest granddaughter of King Charles III.
With the seven-year-old currently third-in-line to the throne, Charlotte could be set to receive a special unique royal title in the future – one that was originally meant to go to her great uncle, Prince Edward.

Royal author Christopher Andersen has claimed the Royal Family may “close ranks” against the Sussexes following the release of Prince Harry‘s book, their joint docu-series for Netflix and a number of interviews.
Speaking to Us Weekly’s Royally Us, he said: “The Royal Family are perfectly capable as we know from the story of Wallis Simpson, when the Royal Family close ranks you can be on the outs for decades.
“It’s not as if Meghan and Harry don’t have a life of their own now.”
He added: “Harry and Meghan do have an important existence. They have philanthropies, causes and big public platforms.
“That would make it easier in a sense to be shut off by the rest of the Royal Family because the royals don’t feel they’ve sent them off.”

Queen Camilla headed to Bath this morning to visit the newly-opened offices of the Royal Osteoporosis Society (ROS), an organisation the royal has been championing for years.
King Charles‘s wife appeared in high spirits as she spoke with her hosts who led her through the building.
In Bath, the royal had the chance to meet staff, volunteers and people in the helpline team.
Her Majesty has been vocal for decades about the importance to get checked and learning about the potential risks of developing the bone disease, which she has described as “devastating”.
Last October, Camilla launched the appeal as she promoted an online questionnaire focused on osteoporosis, saying in a statement: “Both my grandmother and my mother died as a result of osteoporosis.
“At the time, the disease was seldom discussed, rarely diagnosed and was usually acknowledged as an unavoidable part of growing older.
“Now, thankfully, we know far more about the causes, symptoms and available treatments.”

The meeting took place at Windsor Castle, just a few minutes away from the Prince and Princess of Wales’ new residence, Adelaide Cottage.

Now, Meghan and Harry have been shunned by the British public who claim that they do not want the royal pair to attend the historic day, a royal reporter has said.
Royal author and commentator Angela Levin featured on GB News and spoke of how their presence would put a dampener on the spectacular day and take attention away from King Charles.
Ms Levin said: “A lot of us in the UK, and I mean a lot, really don’t want them here at all.
“Because you can’t trust them, and they will report everything or do another documentary about it or another book and look for all the negative. Or they’ll just take attention away from King Charles.”
