Net-Zero Community Set to Bring 1,000 New Homes to Victoria, Australia
The Australian state of Victoria is soon to get its first net-zero community, dubbed Highett Common. The project—developed by Sunkin Property Group and designed by ClarkeHopkinsClarke Architects—has gotten approval for the first phase of a medium-density, net-zero carbon community that will include 1,000 residences, a park, a public library, a community center and a conservation reserve on about 23 acres. One of the main initiatives to achieve net-zero carbon status is by becoming fully electric. “The elimination of gas [will act] as the first milestone toward reaching our goals amongst many sustainability initiatives,” said Lloyd Collins, Sunkin Property Group’s general manager of development. realestate.com.au
Eight-Bedroom Dubai Villa Sells off Plan for AED 90.5 million
Dubai’s luxury home prices are inching closer to breaking the AED 100 million mark. Earlier this month, an eight-bedroom villa on Lanai Island in Dubai sold for AED 90.5 million (US$24.64 million). Located in the Tilal Al Ghaf master-development, the more than 30,200-square-foot mansion is still under construction and was bought off plan. It’s expected to be ready for move-in by the first quarter of 2027. Lanai Island is one of two private islands planned at Tilal Al Ghaf, which will have 13 mansions located along a “crystal lagoon,” said Nikita Kuznetsov, CEO of Metropolitan Premium Properties, the developer. Listings in Canada Expected to Increase 7% Between June and December
New listings are to rebound later in the year after a slow first quarter and grow modestly in 2024, according to a report from Rishi Sondhi, an economist with TD Economics. Listings could increase by 7% between the second and fourth quarter before slowing to a growth pace of about 2% in 2024. Rising demand is also set to keep markets balanced and underpin positive growth in home prices, particularly in the second half of this year, the report said. BNN Bloomberg

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matt Stafford and wife, Kelly, have just bought a spectacular vineyard home in California for $10.5 million.
