China’s New-Home Price Crawled out of Negative Territory in January
The average new-home price in 70 median and large cities in China remained unchanged in January, the first time it did not decline since August 2021, according to data released Thursday by the National Bureau of Statistics. Prices in 36 of the cities tracked increased on a monthly basis. “The home market is going to be stable and have a gradual recovery this year,” said Yan Yuejin, director of the Shanghai-based E-house China Research and Development Institute. Relaxed Covid restrictions, improved liquidity among developers and better sentiment among home buyers could help reboot the gloomy property market, he said. South China Morning Post

A former Anglican church in Vaucluse, an affluent suburb of Sydney, that comes with approval for residential conversion has hit the market for A$10 million (US$6.88 million). Built in the mid-1960s, the whitewashed brick church has about 21,259 square feet of space to accommodate 350 people. Interiors feature high ceilings, wood beams and hardwood floors. Bill Clinton’s childhood home in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where he lived from 1954, when he was eight, until 1961, is on the market for $345,000. Known as Birnbaum-Shubetz House, the 3,708-square-foot, six-bedroom home was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1995 but remained unnoticed for decades. The luxury home Rihanna rented to prepare for her Super Bowl half-time performance in Arizona has been revealed. The 6,434-square-foot home in Paradise Valley, Arizona, about 30 miles from the stadium where Super Bowl LVII took place, has five bedrooms, five bathrooms, two living rooms, an open kitchen, a walk-in wine cellar, a private gym and an office. Outdoors, there is a pool with a waterfall, a pickleball court, a bar area, a putting green and a bocce ball court. Rihanna booked six nights ahead of the game for $85,000 a night, sources said. TMZ
