Flower Dome has been taken over by Mexico’s famous Mayan pyramid and Tula Giants
Flying now to your dream destination might be a little more costly than pre-Covid, which is why you should make a trip down to Gardens by the Bay if Mexico is on your travel list.
Here in Singapore, Gardens by the Bay has recently partnered with the Embassy of Mexico, transforming the Flower Dome that showcases floral interpretations and icons of ancient Mexican civilisations.
Titled Hanging Gardens – Mexican Roots, visitors will be able to find a massive 4.5-metre tall reproduction of the iconic Chichén Itzá pyramid of the Mayans, the Aztec double-headed serpent and medallions with mosaic designs composed of seeds, beans and pulses.
Here’s a sneak peek inside.
Visible on the horizon of the ancient city of Tula, Hidalgo in present-day Mexico, these large, giant statues stand atop the Temple of Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli, also known as the Temple of the Morning Star or House of the Morning Star.
There will also be a display of food and plants endemic to Mexico such as corn, chillies and tomatoes.
Visitors can also look forward to a vibrant floral extravaganza of orchids, dahlias and bromeliads that call to mind the lively hues often associated with Mexico.
Admission charges to the Flower Dome applies. Tickets for Singapore residents are priced at $12 for adults and $8 for kids 3 to 12 years and seniors.
