GLENDALE — A tall glass structure with cars inside may draw the attention of drivers on a West Valley freeway.
It’s Tempe-based Carvana’s newest car vending machine. The eight-stories tall building can hold up to 31 vehicles. It’s near the Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway and Bell Road in Glendale, just west of the Arrowhead Towne Center mall.
“It’s really something unlike any other car dealer is able to offer,” David Klemow, public relations specialist for Carvana, told KTAR News 92.3 FM.

He added the vending machine offers a “futuristic” way to buy a car that lets customers make their purchase online and “skip the car lot.”
Customers who choose to pick up their cars at the vending machine are given an oversized coin to drop into a slot. Once they do that, the automated process that brings down their car is activated.
This is Carvana’s second vending machine in Arizona and the 33rd in the United States. The first one was built in Tempe.
“To be back in our hometown with our latest Car Vending Machine design, that will bring an even better experience to more people across the Valley of the Sun, is a really proud homecoming moment for Carvana,” Ernie Garcia, Carvana founder and CEO, said in a statement.
The newest Carvana vending machine comes as the used cars company is running a nationwide gas giveaway.
Customers who choose to pick up their vehicles at any of Carvana’s vending machines will be entered into a drawing to win $2,500 fuel gift cards. One winner will be selected at each location.
