Sepp Blatter is just the latest victim of serial prankster Lee Nelson, whose past targets include Kanye West and England's World Cup football squad.
Nelson, whose real name is Simon Brodkin, hijacked a press conference to shower the outgoing FIFA president with cash before being dragged away by security staff.
The UK comedian has a record of disruptive pranks – here are some of the most notable.
Dressed as a player, Nelson ran on the field with the Manchester City football team ahead of a match in 2013.
He warmed up alongside players before they realised he was an imposter.
At the Glastonbury music festival in June, Nelson jumped on stage during West's headline performance.
West was mid-song when Nelson ran on stage in a shirt that said "Leezuz" – seemingly a reference to Wests' album Yeezuz – and pretended to rap alongside the star.
West backed away from the comedian, walked off stage and declared "let's start over".
Nelson later tweeted: "I Kanyed Kanye. That was for you @taylorswift13 #Leezus" and "some people were saying Kayne shouldn't headline Glastonbury so I thought I'd give him a hand."
In 2009, West interrupted singer Taylor Swift as she accepted an MTV award.
Lee later released a video of the prank that included an apology to West.
In 2014, the comedian dressed as a member of England's World Cup squad and tried to board the team plane ahead of a flight to the United States.
He was dragged away by security at Luton Airport.
Nelson performed this stunt as character Jason Bent, a footballer in the comedian's television series.
In November, Nelson ran on stage and joined eight-piece boy band Stereo Kicks as they performed on the UK's X-Factor program.
Nelson later tweeted: "There are so many of them I thought anyone could have a go. Really hope the boys keep me on #LeeNelsonforStereoKicks."
Blatter was showered in fake dollar bills by Nelson during a press conference to announce an election to decide his successor.
Nelson launched bills into the air and said: "Here you go Sepp."
Blatter blamed the incident on "a lack of education".
After the stunt, Nelson tweeted a photo from one of his accounts, showing himself with the message: "Excited to be at FIFA meeting Sepp Blatter to secure the #NorthKorea2026 World Cup."
