Home Prices up for Two Straight Months in Portland, Oregon
Portland, Oregon, home prices are once again trending upward, according to a report that shows median and average home prices in the area rose for the second straight month in March. Some may have hoped the increase in February was an anomaly; after all, home prices throughout the Portland metro area had been decreasing since May 2022. However, the latest Regional Multiple Listing Services Market Action Report for March 2023 shows that prices went up again. The average sale price was $584,500, a 2.7% increase from the average sale price in February. The median sale price also climbed 2.4% from $512,900 in February to $525,000 in March. KOIN 6 News
Local Buyer Snags Historic Mansion in Melbourne Suburb After Heated Bidding
A Federation Queen Anne-style home in the Melbourne, Australia, suburb of Toorak has sold within its quoted range of A$20 million (US$13.3 million) to A$22 million. Seven parties placed bids on the historic residence that dates to 1895. Currently configured as a nursing home with 47 en-suite bedrooms, the home is in need of renovations that could cost at least another A$5 million. Former People Magazine Chief Is Selling Southern California Home for Nearly $4 Million
Jess Cagle, a well-known entertainment journalist and the editor-in-chief of People magazine from 2014-19, is selling his home in Palm Springs, California, for $3.895 million. Mr. Cagle, 65, who now hosts a radio show and weekly podcast featuring interviews with the biggest names from TV, movies and music, bought the Mid-Century Modern home just three years ago for $2.195 million. The home has 3,125 square feet of living space with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a sunken living room with a stone fireplace, a dining room and an updated kitchen.
