Even as Gujarat is gearing up for assembly elections at the end of the year, the state government on Saturday transferred one ADGP, 22 Superintendents of Police and 86 DySPs.
ADGP transfer
In a single order on Saturday, R B Brahmbhatt, serving as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of Enquires, Gandhinagar, was transferred and appointed on the vacant ex-cadre post of ADGP CID Crime and Railways. This was done by downgrading the post of DGP CID to ADGP, thus relieving Gujarat DGP & IG Ashish Bhatia of the additional charge. Notably, Anil Pratham, a DGP-rank officer, retains his post heading the Women and Child Cell within CID Crime.
Awaiting promotion
SP Neeraj Badgujar, who is attached to the vacant post of DIG Law and Order, still awaits his substantial promotion, due since January.

IG Brajesh Kumar Jha has been given additional charges of ADGP Enquires and ADGP Police Reform. SP Nirlipt Rai has been relieved of additional charge of IGP Law and Order and additional charge has been given to SP Virendrasinh Yadav, who is currently posted at Commandant Metro Security SRP.
