A Parcel of Dubai Land Sells for a Record AED 125 Million
A 24,500 square feet (0.56 acres) beachfront plot in Dubai’s exclusive Jumeirah Bay sold last week for AED 125 million (US$34 million), making it the most expensive parcel sold in the U.A.E.. The previous record for a land plot sale was AED 91 million in January, according to Knight Frank, which represented both parties in the deal. The anonymous, international buyer will build a mansion on the plot. The seller is Umar Kamani, the 35-year-old founder of U.K.-based fashion retailer PrettyLittleThing, Knight Frank said. A recent build in Gold Coast, Queensland, attracted seven registered prospective buyers with a total of 52 bids at auction on Sunday, pushing the final price to A$4.485 million (US$3 million). This sets a new price record for the suburb of Burleigh Waters, surpassing the previous record of A$4.05 million established in January 2022 for a luxury new build.
