To date, 270 people have died and more than 2,000 injured in the conflict between the paramilitary group, Rapid Support Forces, and the country’s armed forces.
Mahjoub said that the country’s armed forces now seemed to have control of what he called “the rebellion force”.
"Today, the situation at least will be stable in the capital."
He said that the Rapid Support Forces group was seemingly unorganised in its attacks.
"They don’t have kind of support or food or communication… they are just scattered around the capital without any leadership and the situation is under control by the army as far as I know."
