A total of 6,501 suspected cases and 1,612 confirmed cases have been reported with an attack rate of 3.3/10,000 population.
From total VHF Susp cases in White Nile; 3 were co-infection (Dengue + Chikungunya); 49 were Chikungunya and 32 were Dengue Fever cases.
Majority of suspected cases 708 (11%) were reported in epi week 45-2022 followed by 659 (10%) suspected cases in epi week 44-2022.
1,448 (22.3%) of total suspected cases are being reported from North Kordofan State followed by 1,367 (21.0%) from North Darfur; 1,094 (16.8%) from West Kordofan; 928 (14.3%) from Khartoum; 697 (10.7%) from White Nile; 472 (7.3%) from Kassala; 192 (3.0%) from Gedaref; 97 (1.5%) from Red Sea; 96 (1.5%) from South Kordofan; 61 (0.9%) from West Darfur; 36 (0.6%) from East Darfur and 13 (0.2%) of suspected cases were reported from South Darfur State.
A total of 43 deaths have been reported with a case fatality rate CFR of 0.7% across 7 States.
Majority of deaths 37% (16; CFR 1.1%) were reported from North Kordofan followed by 19% (8; CFR 8.2%) from Red Sea; 14% (6; CFR 0.5%) from West Kordofan; 14% (6; CFR 0.4%) from North Darfur; 7% (3; CFR 3.1%) from South Kordofan; 5% (2; CFR 1.0%) from Gedaref while 5% (2; CFR 0.2%) of deaths were from Khartoum State.
A total of 3,162 samples were collected for testing out of those 1,612 (51%) were positive.
Highest number of samples 1,357 (42.9%) were collected from North Darfur State followed by 927 (29.3%) from Khartoum; 222 (7.0%) from Kassala; 192 (6.1%) from Gedaref; 106 (3.4%) from West Kordofan; 87 (2.8%) from Red Sea; 87 (2.8%) from North Kordofan; 63 (2.0%) from White Nile; 49 (1.5%) from West Darfur; 33 (1.0%) from East Darfur; 27 (0.9%) from South Kordofan while 12 (0.4%) from South Darfur.
From 1,612 total laboratory positive results, highest number of positive results were from North Darfur State 641 (39.8%) followed by 533 (33.1%) from Khartoum; 163 (10.1%) from Gedaref; 97 (6.0%) from Kassala; 57 (3.5%) from North Kordofan; 45 (2.8%) from West Kordofan; 32 (2.0%) from White Nile; 22 (1.4%) from Red Sea; 6 samples each (0.4% each) from East Darfur and South Kordofan while 5 samples each (0.3% each) were positive from South Darfur and West Darfur States.
Highest samples positivity rate was seen for Gedaref 85% (163 samples positive out of 192 tested) followed by 66% for North Kordofan (57 samples positive out of 87 tested); 57% for Khartoum (533 samples positive out of 927 tested); 51% for White Nile (32 samples positive out of 63 tested); 47% for North Darfur (641 samples positive out of 1,357 tested); 44% for Kassala (97 samples positive out of 222 tested); 42% for South Darfur (5 samples positive out of 12 tested); 42% for West Kordofan (45 samples positive out of 106 tested); 25% for Red Sea (22 samples positive out of 87 tested); 22% for South Kordofan (6 samples positive out of 27 tested); 18% for East Darfur (6 samples positive out of 33 tested) while 10% sample positivity rate was seen for West Darfur State (5 samples positive out of 49 tested).
22% of cases are from 10-19 years of age groups with all age groups being represented.
94% of cases presented with fever followed by 83% with headache; 78% with joint pain, 51% with muscle pain; 49% with backache and 45% with loss of appetite. Less frequent symptoms were skin rash 11%; bleeding 10% and loss of consciousness 8%.
