Premier Inn has opened its 30th hotel in Germany, located in the southeastern city of Passau.
The Premier Inn Passau Weisser Hase dates back to 1512 and features 108 rooms, and a restaurant and bar which serve breakfast and dinner. The city of Passau is also known as Dreiflüssestadt (City of Three Rivers) due to its location at the crossing of the Inn, Danube and Ilz.
The hotel is situated a ten-minute walk from historic attractions such as St Stephen’s Cathedral and Passau’s Old Town.
The Premier Inn brand has expanded dramatically in Germany, and now boasts properties in 31 locations across the country in locations such as Berlin, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Munich. The expansion was aided by its acquisition of 13 hotels across Germany from the Centro Hotel Group last year, allowing it to further increase its network.
The brand has also recently announced the addition of a third hotel in Berlin set to open in spring 2022, which will be the largest Premier Inn hotel in Germany. The 403-room Berlin Alexanderplatz hotel is part of an acquisition and will see the merging of two existing hotels.
Forthcoming openings in the country include:
Inge Van Ooteghem, COO of Premier Inn Germany, commented:
“We are proud to celebrate the opening of our 30th hotel with such a traditional hotel location. For more than 500 years, guests have been staying at this prominent and historic location, and we hope with this milestone that the brand of Premier Inn will be equally as enduring.
“This hotel is an exciting addition to the Premier Inn brand here in Germany and with the ability to travel now opening up more widely we hope people who know and love Premier Inn will soon be able to experience what the brand has to offer in the many cities and towns we now operate in across Germany.”
