Brett Hodgson has left his role as defence coach of the England Rugby Union side. The former Hull FC boss was appointed by Eddie Jones back in November, with Jones sacked by the Rugby Football Union last month.
Jones' replacement is Leicester Tigers frontman Steve Borthwick, who has also brought rugby league legend Kevin Sinfield into the England set up. Borthwick has already stamped his mark on his new role with three of Jones' backroom staff shown the door.
Hodgson joins Matt Proudfoot and Danny Kerry in leaving the England camp ahead of their Six Nations campaign next month. His run as England defence coach was one of shortest in history.

Hodgson, who parted company with Hull FC in September, was relieved of his England duties when the RFU confirmed Sinfield's arrival before Christmas. The former Leeds Rhinos star joins former Hull FC player Martin Gleeson at England. Gleeson, now 41, has been attack coach since 2019.
