The UK's 20 poshest villages for 2023 have been revealed and Northamptonshire has made the list. The Times has revealed their swankiest locations in Britain with a variety of factors
Many of the listed villages boast a historic pub with a Michelin star or a celebrity that lives in a manor house nearby. It is no doubt that the top 20 are home to some of the UK's most beautiful scenery and green walks.
From the picturesque Cotswold village of Castle Combe to what is sometimes called the Welsh Riviera, it features some of the British villages that can claim to be the poshest in the land.

Coming in at number six is Church with Chapel Brampton, just north of Northampton. It has a five-star "posh rating" according to The Times and is nicknamed "the millionaires' village".
Under the entry, it says: "Forget the Hamptons — for exclusivity, it’s all about the Bramptons, the twin villages of Church with Chapel Brampton in Northamptonshire.
"The Bramptons exemplify the estate agents’ maxim that the smaller the village, the higher the premium — it’s not called the “millionaires’ village” for nothing.
"Life here is textbook country-luxe, with two golf courses, two riding stables, a farmshop with on-site butcher, and the opportunity to call Earl Spencer a neighbour.
"The idyllic country pub of choice is the Brampton Halt, and should it not be possible to accommodate everyone in your nine-bedroom mansion, there is always the elegant Brampton Grange."
The villages in second and first place may not come as a surprise to many, especially as one has UNESCO world heritage status and the other funnelled in millions for the refurbishment of their beloved pub.
In silver is Saltaire near Bradford, West Yorkshire. The Victorian “model” village has UNESCO world heritage status and is even home to a David Hockney collection at the grade II* listed Salts Mill.
Topping all of the villages in the UK is Hodnet in Shropshire, West Midlands. Boasting a five out of five-star posh rating, the local village pub had a whopping £2 million refurb.
Home to a number of pubs including the Bear Inn, which is now an acclaimed gastropub and boutique hotel, the upper-class credentials of the venue have seen Hodnet grab first prize.
