Serviced apartments specialist edyn is to open its first property in France with plans for a Locke aparthotel in Paris.
The company is expanding around Europe and this will include the new Locke property in the French capital, which is scheduled to open in the second half of 2024.
Edyn is to convert a 18th century mansion in Paris’ Latin Quarter into an aparthotel with 145 studio apartments, as well as a winter garden, restaurant and bar, co-working area, coffee shop, gym and laundry facilities. The development is due to start this month after the site was purchased with planning permission.
Stephen McCall, edyn’s CEO, said: “After establishing ourselves as one of the most innovative hybrid hospitality groups in Europe, this flagship opening in Paris further extends the reach of our exciting pipeline of Locke and Cove hotels across the continent, at a time when awareness of extended stay is translating into record levels of consumer demand.”
The company’s recent growth has included the opening of the largest Locke property so far, WunderLocke in Munich, with Locke at East Side Gallery in Berlin set to follow in May 2023. Another two Locke properties are being developed in Zurich and Lisbon, which will open over the next two years.
Edyn raised £105 million in funding earlier this year to help pay for the continuing expansion of the aparthotel brand across Europe.
