Fans may struggle to get a room booked as hotels reach capacity and prices reach more than £300
Arctic Monkeys will play at Old Trafford on Friday June 2 as part of the band's newly announced 2023 UK tour but as demand for tickets rise so does the bid for a place to stay on the night.
The tour was announced on Friday and tickets go on pre-sale this Thursday, September 29. Tickets open for general sale this Friday, September 30 on Ticketmaster and SeeTickets.
The rock band's latest tour comes just one month after the release of their album, 'The Car', which has left many fans itching to catch a glimpse of them perform live. Tickets haven't even gone on sale yet and hotels in the area, closest to the Emirates Old Trafford Stadium are already selling out.

Having only announced the tour three days ago, the majority of nearby hotels are already fully booked, leaving what's left out of many people's budgets, especially when combined with the cost of tickets and travel to the show. Getting to the stadium is simple from Manchester Piccadilly, if you take the blue tram line towards Media City (the Salford Quays area), from here it is only a 12 minute walk to the stadium.
Salford Quays would be the ideal place for fans to stay, as it's only a short walk from the stadium but still close enough to good restaurants, bars and national train routes into Manchester city centre. However, when looking at the availability of hotels we only found one with space on that night.
Out of the six hotels we looked on Booking.com, Premier Inn, Holiday Inn, Travelodge, Corpthorne Hotel, Hilton Garden Inn and the Ibis, only one had availability.
The Ibis Budget in Salford Quays is the only budget friendly hotel with availability. A standard room on the night of Friday June 2 is currently £172 for the night. However the Ibis would cost around £85 per room, leaving an £87 price increase on the night of the gig.
This means fans struggling to find cheaper accommodation will be forced to go for what is available, at a higher price. Other hotels that have rooms for that night include the Trafford Hall Hotel at £279, which is more than double the price of its rates for November, a standard double room at this hotel on Friday November 25 would only cost £69. Hotel Football in Old Trafford also has rooms left but would cost fans £349, and it is non-refundable.
The rise in hotel prices is down to the system used, demand based pricing, this is what also drives the price of concerts tickets and the more in-demand a specific date or event then the higher the price will be. When Sam Fender announced his one-off gig in St James' Park in Newcastle, nearby hotels raised their prices up to £500 a night, on a room that normally cost £89 a night on any other date.
