Carlisle-born Premier League prospect Joe White scored for Newcastle United against arch rivals Sunderland.
But the Magpies were dramatically pegged back by a late goal from the Black Cats’ GOALKEEPER in the Under-21 clash.
White, 20, fired home from the left of goal after a short-corner routine to give the hosts a first-half lead at St James’ Park.
It came in front of a 2,511 crowd at Newcastle’s home ground on Monday night.

It looked set to give the home side victory in the Premier League 2 Division 2 game…until visiting No1 Alex Bass became Sunderland’s unlikly saviour.
The keeper came up for a corner in the 94th minute – and forced the ball home to earn the Black Cats a dramatic point.
White’s goal was his third in successive outings for Newcastle’s Under-21s.
He recently scored an eyecatching free-kick against Southemapton as he continues to impress behind the scenes at the Premier League club.
White has been training with Eddie Howe’s first team as he awaits his next senior opportunity.
The young Cumbrian spent time on loan with Hartlepool United last season and said last month that he was hoping to make another loan move in January.
