An award-winning Indian restaurant in Leicestershire is to open two new outlets in a village and a market town.
The Cinnamon Lounge, which is based in Market Harborough, is to open a restaurant in the nearby village of Middleton, and one in the Rutland market town of Uppingham.
The restaurant in Middleton is to be at the former Red Lion pub on The Hill.
The restaurant in Uppingham is to be sited in the former Gilberts furniture shop in Ayston Road.
Naz Abdul, who owns the multi-award winning Cinnamon Lounge in Market Harborough – based in the former Bell Inn in Northampton Road – is aiming to open both restaurants at the same time later this year.
Mr Abdul, who ran the Cinnamon Lounge at the former Horse and Trumpet pub in Medbourne for years, said:
“I believe there is room in the market for a good Indian curry house serving Corby and the surrounding villages such as Middleton.
“The Red Lion is the perfect location and I am really looking forward to getting the restaurant up and running.
"We think there is also scope for a quality Indian restaurant in Uppingham.
"The Cinnamon Lounge is renowned for offering quality food that’s a little bit different, coupled with great service and a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere – and that’s what I’ll be looking to provide in both locations.
"I am not sure when we will open the news restaurants but it would be good to open them both at the same time.
"We are not going to rush these openings. We want to get things just right."
The Cinnamon Lounge in Market Harborough scooped two awards at the English Curry Awards 2017.
The restaurant won the service of the year award in the East Midlands and also an award for the best service in the whole country.
The previous year, it won an award for the best service in the East Midlands.
