TikTok seemingly gave the boot to @kimandnorth, the wildly popular account shared by Kim Kardashian and her oldest daughter North West.
The quickly-reversed move was detected Thursday after social media users shared screenshots that indicated the page has been banned. The account was restored shortly later. The mother and child have amassed 15.5 million followers and more than 454 million likes.
Complex verified the @kimandnorth page featured the “account banned” label and the following message when viewed on the mobile app: “The account kimandnorth is no longer available.” When accessed through a web browser, the page simply read “couldn’t find this account.”
TikTok has not yet provided an explanation for the removal, but some Twitter users suspect it may have something to do with age restrictions. The video-sharing app currently has an age rating of 12+; North will turn 10 in about two months. For users under 13, TikTok has a restricted version with additional privacy and safety protection.

Despite the “banned” label, sources tell TMZ it was North who chose to take down the account, as she felt it was time to take a hiatus.
“North has been more interested in focusing her creativity in other areas lately and is taking a break from TikTok,” an anonymous insider claimed. “Like most kids, interests change often, so she may be back on as early as tomorrow—or never again.”
Thankfully for fans, the “break” was short-lived. By Thursday night, @kimandnorth was fully restored with all its posts, including lip-sync videos, product promos, and of course those viral clips featuring cameos by Ice Spice.
Kim and North launched their joint account back in 2021, and reportedly gained 130,000 followers within the first day. North’s father Kanye West publicly slammed his ex-wife for allowing their daughter on TikTok without his consent. He explained his frustration during a January 2022 appearance on Hollywood Unlocked.
“Tell her don’t have my daughter wearing lipstick on TikTok and don’t have her on TikTok at all if I don’t approve that, and I said it after it was done without me knowing, and it happened again,” he told host Jason Lee. “So I feel like there’s some poking the bear, trying to antagonize me or create this, like, ‘crazy’ narrative. Because to say someone is crazy, they’re trying to take the power away and do anything to get people to not pay attention to me.”
Kardashian addressed Kanye’s objections on her Instagram Stories in February 2022, saying his “constant attacks on me in interviews and on social media” are “actually more hurtful” than any TikTok content.
“As the parent who is the main provider and caregiver for our children, I am doing my best to protect our daughter while also allowing her to express her creativity in the medium that she wishes with adult supervision—because it brings her happiness,” she wrote. “Divorce is difficult enough on our children and Kanye’s obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all.”
